After "Becoming Batman" and then "Inventing Iron Man" were published, I did (and still do!) lots of school visits. Many invitations were to middle schools and I would hear "are you going to write something specifically for us?" It seems the answer was "yes".

I wanted to communicate the wonders of science to a bigger audience. I was inspired by the great writers I read like Carl Sagan, Stephen Jay Gould, Richard Dawkins, James Kakalios and others.
