How does one get inspired to breath? Its a need, at times done without thought. The Universe just provides the Material and I soak it all up. Filling my inner self with everything life provides .....
Oh that was so deep! Ill be honest, I had no idea where I was going with that but once it reached the end I thought #Golden!
Ok ok, lets get real here. Ive always been a storyteller and a very avid reader. Both those attributes go hand in hand. When I was little my Grandfather taught me how to use my imagination to make things interesting, and my creativity just grew from there. When I want to find inspiration, I generally just live. It doesnt matter if its a trip to the grocery store, ordering coffee at a Starbucks, or even going to check the mail. Life is fascinating! And a little touch of abnormality sprinkled into the mix, never hurt anybody.
Is that a banshee in heat, or my Mom's cat, screaming at my window?

And as far as that crappy opinion that writers will never amount to much ..... If you're a fan of ramen (like me) and you can't go even a simple car ride without seeing something extrodinary ..... Then crank of the tune-age and wash those opinions out. We write because were writers and nothing is going to change that.

The best thing about being a writer is that you are never alone. Hundreds of characters dance through my head, daily, and writing about them gives others the chance to meet them as well.
Often times when I am reading others works, I refer to them as 'old friends', its a special feeling knowing that I'm giving back to readers what other Authors gave to me.

Generally, before I begin any book, I sit down and have one on on interviews with my Characters. Due to this process - I sometimes end up with characters that don't fit the book itself, so they sit in a form of limbo until I can find them a home. One night, several years ago, I sat two of my 'homeless' characters down and let them 'chill' together. Needless to say, they hit it off great. After that the rest of the characters just invited themselves in and before I knew it VOLA. We had a story tell and it only got more exciting from there. Within several months we were .....

....... Street fighting immortals jerks, making deals with legendary God Figures, and trying to help a teen aged foster girl survive to driving age.
