Joshua Edward Smith Spenser and Susan from Robert B. Parker's Spenser series (the books the "Spenser for Hire" TV show was based on). I adore the banter between them, and the way they are absolute equals intellectually. Also, Parker managed to capture such a deep loving bond which he carries only through dialog, not exposition. It's sublime. If you haven't read these books, I highly recommend them. There are like a thousand of them. I freely admit that when I write dialog between Lisa and Sir in the Entropy series, I'm hearing Parker's voice in my head.
