Tom Glatch For me, projects have always been a collaboration. Typically, an editor will come to me with a project idea, which I then take and add my own touches. That was the case with the book I am finishing this summer. Other times I'll have an idea that I submit to one of my editors. After over thirty years I have a nice network of editors to collaborate with!
Tom Glatch As a non-fiction writer, there is inspiration everywhere! Just look! The issue is finding the time (I have a real job) and someone interested in publishing something that interests me.
Tom Glatch I typically walk away from a project for a day or two, although I'm blessed with rarely having what most people think of "writer's block." Sometimes a title or theme is difficult to come by, but the actual text usually flows once my research is complete -- but the research has to be complete. Then the pieces of the puzzle fall into place. And I often come up with those elusive titles while in the shower or while sleeping!
