Do you plan on writing a Screen Play, or Stage Play? And, are you working on something fictional now? It also sounds like the book is meaningful to your mother, so tell me a little bit about her! I think you both will like Dona Chepa very much. I'm not writing a screen play, but wouldn't it be nice to see the story adapted to a play or movie one day? Let me know what you think when you finish it. Thanks for your kind words. Celeste Leon I suspect your life will only get better as you carry on with all of life's lessons learned so far (after all, barring more aches and pains, would you want to be 20 something again...? Maybe just to do some things differently I would say).

Did your 50th birthday feel like the milestone of your lifetime?
Celeste Leon Thanks, Liesje. It did feel like a milestone! And that's mainly because I wanted to have my book published by the time I turned 50, and that happened! I worked on it for 10 years! Did you know John Irving worked on Avenue of Mysteries for 25 years (I read it in the New Yorker) and Seldon Edwards worked on The Little Book: A Novel for 40?! I read a wonderful sentence in State of Wonder by Ann Patchett that brought to mind how hard I worked on my book: "She excelled not through hard bursts of inspiration but by the hard labor of a field horse pulling a plow..." I loved that sentence!

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Celeste Leon For short term help, take a break and move. Take a walk, stretch, go out and exercise. It helps to improve circulation to the exremities or brain. Or read one of your favorite books or authors. Their words may just inspire you!
