Peter L. Harmon My favorite of the books I've written? The second The Happenstances... book is really silly. My favorite book of all time?! Probably The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis.
Peter L. Harmon I think to be true to my younger self I would have to go to Narnia. If I could have an adventure with the Pevensie kids, meet Aslan, maybe take a quick voyage on the Dawn Treader, I'd be pretty excited.
Peter L. Harmon This summer I read My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh and I'm excited to go to her signing later in the year. I also read a debut novel by Gareth Frank called The Moment Between which was very good. I'm currently reading Tough Luck by Jason Starr for a quick, pulpy experience. After that, who knows!
Peter L. Harmon Good question. I'm learning as I go. In fact, if you figure anything out tweet at me @PeterLHarmon
Peter L. Harmon The ocean inspires me to write. The wind through the trees. A child's laughter. The way a bird...

Lol, jk, what inspires me to write usually starts with a nugget from my real life or a line or a character roughly forming in my imagination then extrapolating from there.
Peter L. Harmon My most recent book is a direct sequel to my first book. My first book is titled The Happenstances at the Yellow County Community Swim and Racquet Club the Summer Before Last and it was released in June of 2015. This summer (2017) the sequel is being released. It's called The Happenstances at the Yellow County Community College a Couple of Semesters Later. We pick back up with the characters from the first book a couple of semesters later.
Peter L. Harmon Hmm, I think in order to have writer's block I would have to have more time to write. The way my life is now (wife, two kids, a pug, day job, writing, editing my next book, staying active, etc) I don't have time to stare at a blank page. I've usually been waiting for my writing time for a day or two and have a lot of ideas revved up and ready to go when I sit to write.
Another VERY helpful writer's block combatant is being a part of a group of writers. You have to meet deadlines and once you've hashed out your project with the group you have a ton of notes and new ideas to incorporate in your project.
Peter L. Harmon The best thing about being a writer, for me, is being able to communicate clearly and specifically.
I don't think I'm the best conversationalist, I don't know if I'm that good on my feet, and I certainly don't think that I can express myself in an exact way verbally.
But when I get to sit down and hash out what I'm actually trying to say, I think I'm pretty good...
Unless this very answer is proving me wrong, haha!
Peter L. Harmon I'm working on the sequel to my YA novel The Happenstances at the Yellow County Community Swim and Racquet Club the Summer Before Last.

I don't want to say very much about it at this point, but it will also have a ridiculous/ ridiculously long title, it will be about a lot of the characters we love from Happenstances 1, and it's bigger and crazier than Happenstances 1.
