Mike Nappa Hello Kathy - I'm so sorry to hear the news of your husband's illness. Right now you are experiencing what the medical folks call "anticipatory grieving," that is, sorrow about coming sorrow. It's awful ... but also provides moments of authentic gratefulness for the person the Lord has given you. It's a true honor to be the one to mark the passing of that kind of love; I'm glad your husband has you to sit beside him in these days. And yes, of course, I'll send you a copy of the book. I don't have any yet, but expect to get my author copies in early August. Visit my website, Nappaland.com, and use the "Contact+" page to send me your mailing address, and I'll make sure a copy comes to your door. God bless you, Mike
Mike Nappa Hi Beth - thanks for your encouragement, and for reading my books. My last Coffey and Hill novel didn't do well enough to warrant a contract extension from my publisher, so I haven't written any new fiction since then. However, before Coffey and Hill, I wrote a few suspense novels under the pen name "Sharon Carter Rogers." They're all out of print now, but I think still available as used books on Amazon. You might enjoy one of those, if you can find them. Thanks again! Mike
Mike Nappa Thanks for you're encouragement, Beth. Sorry to say that Coffey & Hill series is ended with A Dream Within a Dream. I encourage you to check out new works by my coauthor, Melissa Kosci (writing now under the name of Melissa Koslin). She's awesome. Thanks!
Mike Nappa Hi Ann - thanks for your question. It's been so long ago that I honestly don't remember the starting point, I think maybe I was intrigued by the character of "Dog," or I'd read something about codes being passed in classified ads? I'm not sure. What I do remember was that I'd started Annabel Lee as part of a contract for a Simon and Schuster imprint, and then they told me to stop because they weren't going to publish suspense anymore. So I quit writing fiction. Until one day my wife asked, "What happened with that girl and the German Shepherd?" I reminded her that the book had been canceled, and she said, "I don't care. I want to know what happened. Write that book next." So I said no it's a waste of time and money blah blah blah. And she tilted her head at me and said, "I'm going to pray God changes your mind." I laughed and kept working on something else. Until, two nights later, I couldn't sleep because ideas for Annabel Lee kept me awake. And then EVERY SINGLE NIGHT for about two weeks I couldn't sleep because of that stupid story. So finally I said to God, "OK, I'll write down some ideas so I don't forget in case someday I write this." Next thing I knew I'd written about 100 pages and had to admit to my wife that she was right and I was wrong. That book went on to become a bestseller, and the first of a three-book series. Probably more than you wanted to know, but hopefully it answers your question. Thanks.
Mike Nappa Hi Cindi - thanks for reading my books. I'm glad you enjoyed them. A Dream Within a Dream is still on hold - sorry. Maybe 2019 or 2020? Hard to say right now. However, you if you liked Annabel Lee and The Raven, you might enjoy some of my earlier novels written under the pen name, "Sharon Carter Rogers." They are out of print now, but you can get used copies on Amazon and eBay. Thanks again - Best! Mike
Mike Nappa Hi Christopher - hey, thanks for reading my books! You rock. As for the third book, I wrote about 100 pages of "A Dream Within a Dream," but I'm going to be honest and tell you it's been about two years since I last worked on it, so that book is now on indefinite hold. Sorry! But I'm glad you liked The Raven and Annabel Lee, and grateful you spent your valuable time with my story. I did write a few other suspense novels under the pen name "Sharon Carter Rogers" (it's a long story). Those are out of print now, but you can still get used copies. If you liked Annabel Lee, you might like some of those. Anyway, thanks again!
Mike Nappa Aw shucks, I'm blushing. Thanks for taking time to read my book Jaylee. I'm about 100 pages into book 3, "A Dream Within a Dream," but I'm going to be honest and tell you it's been about a year since I last worked on it. There was a death in my family that changed my plans, so that book is now on indefinite hold. Sorry! But I'm glad you liked The Raven, and grateful you spent your valuable time with my story. Thanks.
Mike Nappa Hi Julianna - Yep, SCR was the pseudonym I used for several years. I couldn't get any editors to read my suspense fiction because, they said, "Mike Nappa is an inspirational writer. He can't write fiction." So I made up Sharon Carter Rogers...and had a contract offer in three weeks. I ended up having to write three books under that name until Revell came along and finally let me write fiction under my own name.
Mike Nappa Thanks so much Jaylee - yes, I'm working on the third Coffey & Hill book right now, a story about a mild-mannered art forger who might also be a brutal murderer. Have to wait and see how that turns out, I guess! The book is tentatively titled A DREAM WITHIN A DREAM, and will likely release in 2018. Best! Mike
Mike Nappa Thanks for reading my book, Amanda! The Raven is finished, but it doesn't release until September 13 of this year. Hope you enjoy it. Best! Mike
