B.R. Maycock This is probably an evil one ... If it's the one I've just started? I'll be honest, it was the fact that I once asked my kids and husband if they could organise the pyjamas, as I had to fly down to the shops. None of them knew where the pjs were kept. So I started to ask them questions. Nobody(including husband) knew where wellies, hats, gloves, the Hoover ... the list went on. I think in every house you have different people assigned to different tasks, and the other person would be lost without them, they're a team for a reason!
B.R. Maycock I have four children, so it's in those minutes after they go to bed. I can either droop, or wake up! I adore my kids more than anything, but that little tast of freedom at night wakes me up and gets me writing!
B.R. Maycock I'm working on a few things at the moment! I'm doing some back stories to accompany my book 'It Started With a Snub,' plus a short story that's been bothering me about a girl who feels like her mother let her down, as well as my second book(very excited!) about a guy left holding the baby, except in this case it's three older children. Is another rom com:)
B.R. Maycock The good old 'just do it!' Just start writing. Don't worry about advice from others, or reading up on techniques and the like until you've actually started. THEN study it and try to improve. Also, never stop reading, if you don't have the time, find it.
B.R. Maycock The sense of satisfaction when you release a part of a story that has been building up in your head. Up until then, you've had snippets of it come to you, disjointed, but then suddenly they start to form an actual story, either on paper or screen. Great, great feeling!
B.R. Maycock On my bad days, the days where I'm sitting, muddled and befuddled, I simply start to brainstorm. I write ANY words relating to the topic/ stage I'm at. I throw the words randomly down on the page and then I find a few sentences generally start to come.
