Thankfully I come from a journalistic background where you get used to having to churn out stories every day, so I've never suffered from this problem. If I'm battling to put something in words, my approach is to rather write something mediocre and keep up the momentum, then come back later and fix it. I love reading other authors' work because then you see how they dealt with a particular scene and that gives you insight and fosters your own creativity.

I am inspired by the world I live in, the people in my life, things people say, quirky ideas. I try to write them all down so I won't forget them. I'm hoping that by the time I pass away, I'll have turned at least 80% of these ideas into books. As Stephen King said, "Writing is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration"!
