Music is definitely a huge inspiration in writing, I often will have music playing when I am doing my best writing sessions.

It's easy to get bogged down after the first couple of chapters. I tend to write the parts of the story that most interest me first, and then go back and fill in what was left over. If you get stuck in one spot, move on to something else, but keep writing.
