L.E. Horn Hello Katherine! I apologize--I missed your question, didn't see it until I came on here to update Nightshifter's covers. I have been hard at work on a new series over the last few months--an urban fantasy romance called Warrior Hearts, due out in September 2021. But Liam's crew has not been forgotten, I am intending to carry on with Nightshifter, and have ideas for new books. So stay tuned for more!
L.E. Horn The couple that first comes to mind would be Alexand and Adrien of M.K.Wren's the Phoenix Legacy. I read these books over and over many years ago and they remain one of my favorite trilogies. M.K. Wren created a complex and believable society through which her characters fight in order to create a better world. The bond between Alexand and his brother Richard is also powerful and extremely well envisioned. I recommend it for all!
L.E. Horn The Gryphon Saga was born of my deep connection to other living things. I am fascinated by what defines us as human and how (and if) that differs from the creatures with which we share the planet. What happens if we discover the virtues we value as human in a creature distinctly not human? I believe there are many examples of this here on Earth, but I took my protagonists on a journey of self discovery and survival on an alien world instead. Sometimes we must leave the familiar in order to better understand it.
L.E. Horn The surest method for opening up my writer's brain is music and lots of it. I love Imagine Dragons, Mariana's Trench, Hozier, and lately Pentatonix's version of Hallelujah. I could also watch Sergei Polunin dance all day. But then I won't get any writing done!
L.E. Horn There will be six books in this story loop of the Gryphon Saga. Book three, Freefall, is going to beta readers this month. I am tweaking book four, Freefire and doing my first round of edits on it. Freeforce, book five, is mostly there but needs some more input. Book six still needs work. I am also completing a series of short stories that tie into the books and provide more background on the primary characters.
L.E. Horn Write! The best advice I ever received was to cast aside one's doubts and write. Your first efforts may not be your best, but get it professionally edited and it will teach you how to be a better writer. Professional edits are vital to a good book.
L.E. Horn Being able to indulge my imagination and not be bound by reality. I love to unleash it all and let it fly.
L.E. Horn Good music! Some songs just take you there and can unlock your writer's brain. Also, seek out the things that inspire you and take the time to indulge. I am fortunate enough to be surrounded by inspiration on my farm; my animals inspire me on an hourly basis.
