J.D. Demers This might sound a little weird, but by everything and nothing. I will watch a TV show or movie and start to think of ideas along those lines. By the time I'm done, it is nothing like what inspired me.
J.D. Demers Two books, actually. First is the second volume of The Hunt Chronicles: Revelation. But I'm also working on a short story series called Rem. Something along the lines of X-Files meets Supernatural.
J.D. Demers Don't give up. In today's world of self publishing, you get to have the world as a critic. I've never looked at writing as a way to make a living, and I don't think anyone else should either. But if it turns out that way, then you get the best of both worlds.
J.D. Demers I've had an over-active imagination for as long as I can remember. Instead of just telling myself stories, I now get to put them out there.
J.D. Demers I take showers. I know it sounds weird, but I think really well while standing under hot water. Maybe it makes my creative juices flow easier... who knows?
J.D. Demers I have loved apocalyptic stories for as long as I can remember. Zombies rate at the top of those tales. But I've always been somewhat disappointed in them. Let’s face it, survival with Romero zombies really wouldn't be that difficult once you got past the initial shock. I wanted to make a world with something similar to the classic zombie, but still incredibly hard to survive. I've thrown a few curve balls into the mix, without straying too far from the zombies everyone loves.
