R.Mark Driskill Go do something else then come back and try again.
R.Mark Driskill Watching an idea take on a life of its own and become something totally unexpected. I may start out writing one thing only to see it develop into something brand new. For me writing is discovery.
R.Mark Driskill Find that one place in your soul where you have experienced God powerfully. (Oh yes you have. Look closer) Pay attention to the places of pain or celebration that have triggered growth in you. Write about that.
R.Mark Driskill I have two books in the oven. One is a primer for new believers in Christ, I am writing it for the youth camp where Mary and I work. It takes four simple words of Jesus and opens them up to show how simple it is to become a follower of Jesus.
R.Mark Driskill I love stories, which is one reason I love the Bible. I read the stories and am drawn in by the details and hidden meanings. I love to elaborate on truths that often elude the reader because they are hidden in the details. Bringing out insights by approaching the scriptures creatively is something I enjoy. It also helps me to personally engage the word of God.
R.Mark Driskill I was inspired by my study of Mark's Gospel. It struck me as a fast moving story with rich imagery. I was inspired by Tamara Shoemaker's writing to inject some Biblical fiction in the closing chapter. I enjoyed taking obscure characters in the story of Jesus and breathing life into them, making them a more vital part of the gospel story. I think you'll enjoy reading those.
