Whoa! Just one thing? If that is my only option, then I'll have to say the best thing about it is to be able to create/invent/dream-about fictional characters, their surroundings, how they would act, and sometimes even the alternate universe or world where they would be living. That... for me, is the best part of putting thoughts into paper.

I start reading books that I have loved in the past or I close word, get up and try not to bang my head against a wall but it is usually the former.
