David Fabio For the past two years I have been trying to write a book about the west. Sometimes, when you come up with a concept, it takes a while to figure out the hooks that will make it interesting to your readers. From what my early reviewers have told me, I think the new book will make the mark.
David Fabio I had neck surgery several years ago. While recovering, I found I could not sleep at night. It gave me a chance to write a book for teens that had problems reading. The Hidden Passage was written for them.

Since then, I have enjoyed writing for the adults that enjoyed my first couple books that were written for teenagers. When I get emails asking when my next book is coming, or someone saying they traveled to the Apostle Islands just to find the objects in the story, it inspires you to write the next novel.

Readers can tell when a book is written from the heart verses one that is written to complete a contract. If you find a book you enjoy, let the author know.
David Fabio My ideas come to me at night. Sometimes I envision a chapter. Other times, I might come up with a full outline.
Once the idea is in the bank, the real work starts. You have to know the setting of the book and how you can make the characters become real to that setting.
As a photographer, it helps me with the settings. A photo trip to the area gives me a number of hints I can use later as the background information is needed.
