I have two books in me that are competing for my attention. Both are set predominantly in the 80s, a decade that I grew up in and look back fondly on.
I’ve written the opening chapter to both, but think that “What about Jayne?” is going to be written first.
It’s based on a character called Maxine Carver, who I think will feature in more books in the future, as she discovers a photo of the 1981 school quiz team, and decides to reunite them on the 30th anniversary of the photo, wanting to recreate it. But there’s a problem- one member of the quiz team hasn’t been seen since that summer of 1981, and appears to have vanished into thin air.
