Joy York My inspiration for The Bloody Shoe Affair: A daring and thrilling adventure with the jailer's daughter came from my many visits to rural Alabama to visit my cousin, Julia, who actually was the daughter of the county jailer. She grew up sneaking into the jail to play checkers with the prisoners and sneak them candy. She in fact lived in a large brownstone house that was connected to the jail. She always got us into mischief! She was like Lily in my book in so many ways; beautiful, strong-minded, and fearless. I was a lot like Christi; shy, skinny, awkward, and afraid of everything. It made for a rich background for my fictitious southern thriller.
Joy York I began telling made up stories to my son when he was small. He always wanted more. After a time, I began writing them down. I discovered how much I loved writing.
Joy York I'm working on a sequel to The Bloody Shoe Affair.

Joy York Doing what I love and having a creative outlet. Your imagination can be endless and so are the writing possibilities!
Joy York I start writing conversations that my characters might have and it seems to spark ideas. Sometimes they start writing themselves!
