James Crabtree I will go to the library and just putter around some topics until an idea starts to form. Other times I will go to an antique store and find an object and make up a story about it in my head... that usually does it.
James Crabtree I am going to do some revisions on existing books, but I am also looking at doing a book on Guantanamo Bay. I spent a year working in Gitmo and I am still amazed at the contrast between how the place is portrayed in the media and how it really worked. As part of my duties I spoke to detainees and I also escorted media through the place... all three of them. I wrote some pretty funny stuff at the time and I think my project will be what we really need about Guantanamo... a humor book!
James Crabtree Desert Fox 1998 addresses what happened that Christmas, when Clinton launched a parody of an attack on Iraq. Forgotten now and ignored then, I hope that I brought to light some of the crazy things that happened to the U.S. military at that time.
