Taylor Fenner I don’t think my life is anywhere near interesting enough to have a mystery worth writing about, but I do occasionally get inspired with some of the crazy stuff I hear at my day job. Just when you think you’ve heard it all, I swear, someone rises to the challenge…
Taylor Fenner I would travel to the Tower in Katharine McGee’s Thousandth Floor Series. I think it would be fascinating to live in a building that is essentially a city unto itself and you could go to stores, restaurants, schools, hospitals, hotels, and more all without having to go outside.
Taylor Fenner 1. Angry glowing eyes watched me in the dark as sharp, claw-like nails clicked across the hardwood floor before stopping at the foot of the bed ready to pounce. I don’t have any pets.

2. Someone called my name and pushed into the bathroom where I was taking a shower. I was home alone and I’d locked the door earlier.
Taylor Fenner It sounds cliche, but don't give up. Don't take one "no" as a reason to give up. Your book will find it's place - whether you have to try and try until a traditional publisher sees your diamond in the rough, or if you decide to go the small press or self-publishing route. Do whatever feels right for you and never stop writing!
Taylor Fenner I got the idea for my current work-in-progress from a poem I had written for fun on the art website, DeviantArt. It got me to thinking - what if the legend (in this case Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow) wasn't the real story, what if the author changed the facts to protect someone he cared about?
Taylor Fenner For me, the best part is when I can hold the finished product of something I've worked so hard on in my hands. It makes me feel so accomplished!
Taylor Fenner I try to pry the ideas loose any way that might be useful - taking a long shower, listening to music that fits the mood of the project or section I'm having trouble with, take a walk, day dream...
Taylor Fenner Roar by Cora Carmack, Trust by Kylie Scott, Stillhouse Lake by Rachel Caine, Fallen Heir by Erin Watt, The Dazzling Heights by Katharine McGee, The Hummingbird Heart by A.G. Howard, and After the Game by Abbi Glines - wow, I didn't realize how many amazing books were coming out this summer!

P.S. - don't forget, the third and final book of my Eternals Trilogy, Through the Fog comes out June 27th!
Taylor Fenner I'm glad you enjoyed it :) The next book in the trilogy is going to be called "Into the Light" and I'm aiming to have Into the Light out sometime in December. I definitely want it out before Christmas, so we'll see!
Taylor Fenner Sometimes a line in a song inspires me, or a vivid dream, or even a random thought or conversation. Its completely random but usually when I get an idea I have to write it down or it keeps nagging at me, I can't concentrate on anything else.
Taylor Fenner Right now I'm writing the third and final book in the Eternals Trilogy, "Through the Fog" and I just finished a short story that I submitted to a literary mag, so fingers crossed!
