Steven Tyler I have always loved to read mysteries but wanted to write a story that did not involve a murder. Research revealed that art theft was the fourth biggest crime in the world. So, I wrote a book about art theft.
Steven Tyler I originally wanted to be a movie producer. The most sensible way to achieve that goal since I was working full-time outside the film industry was by becoming a screen writer. However, you have really be working in the film industry in order to sell your script. That process did allow me to learn how to write different voices of the characters. I turned to novel writing when it became apparent that one of my movie screenplays were never going to be sold.
Steven Tyler I'm on the second re-write of my second book. It looks like there will be at two more after the second review.
Steven Tyler I would tell aspiring writers to read a lot. Study how other writers approach their craft be reading the ware. Also, write, write, write. The words are not going to get on the page all by themselves. You have to put them there.
Steven Tyler It satisfies the artistic gene within me.
Steven Tyler I deal with writer's block by writing. The putting of words on paper even if those words are later deleted is the best way to get over the stump. Also, taking a walk helps to generate ideas.
