Purpose. Challenge. And love. Finding your purpose in writing is intoxicating, having the courage to show up everyday and write is at times a challenge. But the process of writing from the free flow of the first draft, to agonizing over the woefulness of the first draft, to nit-picking over one word, to the absolute fear of knowing readers will....well, read your book. The best thing about being a writer is getting into character and writing.

I go for a run and listen to music. Often the lyrics of a song will prompt a thought process. Sometimes the boredom of churning out mile after mile prompts interesting dialogue inside my head.
