Sharon Feldt I'm working on the 3rd in a series of children's books starring the spunky red-headed nine year-old Sarah O'Shea. The first book in the series is due out in the next couple of weeks: The Scary Hair of Sarah O'Shea. The second book in the series, Sarah O'Shea and the Wacky Faucet, is in the hands of my more than capable illustrator, Heather Karstens. Actually, she's AMAZING!! The third book, Sarah O'Shea and the Glorious Garden, has Sarah in Colonial Williamsburg, chatting with Thomas Jefferson on the joys of gardening. With her faithful dog, Claude, at her side, she happens on a pouch of SPECIAL Seeds which are indeed GLORIOUSLY SPECIAL! Check out my website: http://www.sharonfeldt.com for more info.

Sharon Feldt As a youngster, I read all the time. After school, on weekends, on vacations--I loved seeing myself in the midst of adventures that someone else had created! I wanted to be a cowboy, Clara Barton, Aladdin, the 4th musketeer, a princess, a pirate, a ballet dancer. As I grew up---no,---as I matured--(I don't EVER want to grow up!) I realized that I could create my own adventures and share them with others! I began writing as a kid--nothing spectacular, but plays to act out with my cousins, stories for my family to read, poems for classes. It all came together when I won a poetry contest and went to Orlando to pick up my "award". The award ceremony had two incredible guest speakers: Maya Angelou and Vincent Price. Both were encouraging to the attendees and award recipients. Maya Angelou said words that would inspire me to go forward: "Everyone has a story. Go write yours."

Sharon Feldt I take a nap or read a book written by someone else, or work on a quilt. These activities seem to clear the way for my elusive muse to reappear!.
Sharon Feldt I get to share my thoughts with others. I can put all my fantasies and bucket lists into stories that COULD be true--I can live vicariously through my stories, and hope others can too. And it is so much fun bringing characters and stories to life!
Sharon Feldt Read, read, write, read, read, observe, read, write, read and read some more.
Sharon Feldt I was a Kindergarten teacher for many years--many of my ideas came from working with 4-5-6 year olds and their delightful, uncensored personalities.
