Simon Constable Sometimes I hear someone ask a question about something and then I want to check out the answer. In other words, I want to learn something and then share the new knowledge.

Other times I need to straighten people out who have misconceptions about the world in which we live. This part is particularly relevant to economics, where some really dumb ideas get flaunted around as if they make sense when they don't.
Simon Constable Oh boy! This is a great question.
First, much good writing is hard work for the author. And sometimes the brain just too fried to produce what's needed. So when I have written and written for hours and still the work isn't right I stop and do something else. Then when I've rested I try again and usually that does the trick.
