Always go for your dreams.
Not everyone is going to like your book, so don't let negativity discourage you from writing. Finding an audience takes time.
I have also not bound myself to the traditional genres. I like combining science fiction and fantasy together. I don't think true art has boundaries or rules. If you can imagine it, you can write it.
Write through any blocks. You can always edit or add content later.
