What inspires me is turning an idea into real text that someone can read and understand the idea. Seeing how the text improves with multiple revisions is also inspiring (I keep in mind Hemingway’s remark that “the first draft of anything is shit”).

My recent book, co-authored with Maryann Karinch, is “Trial, Error, and Success: 10 Insights into Realistic Knowledge, Thinking, and Emotional Intelligence.” The idea came from the realization that too many people trust experts who deliver black-and-white advice and predictions, implying they know with certainty what is going to happen in the future.
