I'm sorry this response is soooo late! I'd forgotten all about this feature on Goodreads and never noticed any notifications of questions being asked.
It's not rude to give a constructive review. It's only rude when the review comes off as bashing instead of offering constructive criticism. I would absolutely try to reach out to the author and let them know. If its only in a couple of instances, I would overlook it. However, if it was to the point where it interrupted the flow of the book, I would definitely reach out.
Some people edit their own books, but it's always helpful to hire another pair of eyes. In this day and age of the independent author, it can be quite costly to get a professional editor though.

My publisher posted a theme for the month of November (Naughty November), and the idea for the setting/plot literally seemed to just fall from the sky.

Writing comes natural for me. It doesn't take much to inspire me to write. It's what I love to do.

It's rare that I have writer's block. The last time that happened, it was because I was dealing with an extremely stressful situation. So, to remedy that, I began writing about the situation I was in. It allowed my creative juices to start flowing again, and I was able to continue the novel I was working on.

The best thing about being a writer is being able to create characters with personalities so different from my own. Letting them live within me is so exciting and so totally different from my own life. I feel their emotions as I write.

My advice for aspiring writers is to read a LOT! Study other writers, especially ones who have been doing it a long time and have achieved greatness! You don't have to necessarily emulate them, but definitely study what has made them successful and see how their methods can help you.
