Ria Dimitra After finishing "Selena's Requiem," the sequel to "The Blood Waltz," I thought it might be fun to revisit Michael and Maggie from "The Visconti Devils." What might be even more fun would be to write a story about the son they would have. What would he be like, and what sort of adventures would he have? I've been keeping up with the scene in Europe and in the Catholic Church, and I thought, you can't make this stuff up! I could write a story about the Nephilim and it would be only slightly crazier - or maybe not even. The idea for "Heaven's Irregulars" really came to me right at the time I was diagnosed with cancer. My life has been changed forever, and a change in direction seemed inevitable. So I wrote what has become my first Christian fantasy novel - but my battles with demons rage on.
Ria Dimitra A new adventure starring some of the characters from "The Visconti Devils." It takes place 15 years later, and the central character is Michael and Maggie's 14-year-old son Gabriel. I call it an "apocalyptic coming-of-age story."
Ria Dimitra My great-great-great-great-grandfather, Julius von Rosen, is a real-life mystery! He appeared in the U.S. around 1790, but I haven't been able to find anything about him before that. One family legend says that he fought in the American War for Independence in the Duc de Lauzun's Legion, but I can't find any actual evidence of that, and neither can my second cousin, who has been doing family genealogy for years. I'm sure there's a good story there somewhere!
