I found that entering competitions was really helpful - not so much to win but you often have to write about subjects you wouldn't normally consider and you also have certain restrictions (word count, point of view) which makes you more disciplined. I think it's a great learning tool.

I walk and listen to music - sometimes my characters come along with me and then I start having imaginary conversations with them and sometimes it surprising what comes out of a half hour walk. Then I have to write it all down as soon as I get home.

I'm currently working on Moonstruck which is the third book in my Moonstone Books trilogy. Moonstone - Shades of Blue is the first, Moondance - The Gathering will be published shortly and I'm trying to fit my writing in with working three part time jobs - which isn't always easy and it doesn't help that I have two other novels on the go as well!
