Being a writer allows me to express my innermost thoughts, feelings, and memories, to place them in a creative frame, and to feel myself connecting with so many other people all at once.

It helps me to take a walk or just be in nature or sit in meditation. The calmness that leads to can allow new ideas to come forth.
I also find that if I'm just not in a writing mood, then it's a great time to edit whatever I've already written. I love editing almost as much as writing!
