Apple An is an award-winning author, professor emeritus, and cultural memoirist whose writing bridges the lived and the remembered. She was a professor at Syracuse University from 1995 to 2025. Her academic achievements include seven doctoral graduates, 24 awards and recognitions, and more than 16,500 citations to her 200+ articles and three books in STEM fields. Her debut book, Las Crosses: An Unwavering Journey to a New Life in America, was a finalist in several national book awards and became a category bestseller on Amazon.

Her 2024 historical novel, Mother of Red Mountains: A Novel of a Woman's Journey Through Revolutionary China, marks a new milestone as her first historical fiction. Based on real lives and events, the novel has won over 10 national and international awards across 10 platforms in categories such as Multicultural Fiction, Family Saga, and Women’s Historical Fiction.

Her 2nd historical novel, Daughter of Blue City: A Novel of Coming-of-Age Through Revolutionary China, continues the lives of the main characters in Mother of Red Mountains but is also a standalone book. It achieved the #1 New Release position on Amazon in Historical Chinese Fiction and received multiple awards from five award platforms.

With Georgia A. Popoff, Apple co-edits the Voices Heard Anthology Series, dedicated to emerging and underrepresented writers. 28 Voices came out in 2024, and 37 More Voices is out in 2025.

Apple also created the All-in-One Dotted Journal Notebook, a self-help tool for intentional living, and co-edits the Voices Heard Anthology Series to amplify the voices of emerging and underrepresented authors.

Apple is the mother and guardian of five children who became successful adults. She lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. A lifelong learner and creative soul, she enjoys tennis, ballroom dancing, gardening, travel, and the arts.
