I adore Emma's self-confidence even though she comes off as child-like at times. Mr. Knightley is the real lure for me. He has that confident, almost arrogant air about him that I love. He is always trying to improve Emma's behavior and can be painfully blunt. The sheer honesty and friendship of these two make me want them to become a couple long before the last pages of the book. At the same time, it feels like they were. (less)
