Kaje Harper Yay for guys reading books :) Sadly, too many are still brainwashed into thinking reading isn't "manly" enough (especially books with relationships.)

message 6803: by Neodith (new)

Neodith hi, I read a ton of books, but I also go through phases on reading, watching TV, videogames, and drawing, but I can usually read up to 2-3 books a week (like YA novels?? things like rick Riordan??), currently reading the iliad (almost done!) but I don't want it to end, so I'm procrastinating, read the song of achilles rip, will read the odyssey at some point, love greek myth. avid reader of LQBTQ books and webcomics (TSOA Madeline miller, pjo Rick riordan, Heartstopper Alice oseman, novae Kaiju, and lots of others). I draw a ton, mostly fanart, but I am working on perspective lately (AND HANDS), does anyone else hyperfixate on one thing where it consumes your thought process and everyday life? one word: epic.

(edit: forgot to mention, they/them pronouns & aroace)

Hi MJ, welcome. Rick Riordan is awesome (I used to love his mysteries, but I love even more that he now writes LGBTQ characters that kids connect with.)

Hands are hard. It's been years since I spent much time drawing, but they were always tough.

Welcome Kit, we have read some sapphic books here, if you look at the book of the month threads, although fewer than gay books for sure. Some of my favs include
"Girl Mans Up" by M-E Girard (we don't see a lot of butch lesbian YA girls- this is a good one)
" We Are Okay" by Nina LaCour
"Juliet Takes a Breath" by Gabby Rivera
"The Miseducation of Cameron Post" by Emily M. Danforth
"If I Tell You" by Alicia Tuckerman
"The Ladies' Guide to Petticoats and Piracy" by Mackenzie Lee (not sure if this stands alone without the first gay book)
"The Raven and the Reindeer" by T. Kingfisher
"Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit" by Jaye Robin Brown
"Her Name in the Sky" by Kelly Quindlen

Hi Viggi, welcome. Great to have another author here. This is a Young Adult group (books appropriate for teenagers), so explicit sex is not part of our stories, but we love emotional and self-discovery. Have a look around.

Jo Angelle ✨ Hi everyone!
You can call me Jo Angelle – that’s my pen name. I’m a new BL author and just recently published my very first book on Amazon.

I’ve loved reading BL stories for a long time, and they’ve inspired me to start writing my own. 💕 I’m excited to be here on Goodreads, not only to share my journey but also to connect with fellow BL readers and authors.

I’m really looking forward to making more friends here who share the same passion for BL books. Please feel free to say hi—I’d love to get to know you! 🌸

Jay Dean Hi! I'm a newbie here and thought I would drop in and say hey!
I have just finished writing my first LGBTQ+ fiction book - set in Brighton, UK - and am in the process of proofreading it - hoping to publish it soon!

I am a bisexual, laddish guy from Birmingham in the United Kingdom, with a dry sense of humour! I like to socialise with my friends and, occasionally, venture the LGBTQ+ bars in Birmingham as I love the atmosphere and a lot of the people from the LGBTQ+ community.

I am also a DJ though just a home mixer these days! I mix a lot of dance, house and pop music and have mixed some massive Pride megamixes on YouTube, which are very popular - check out DJ Jay C Official on there :)

I loved English at school; absolutely loved using my vivid imagination to write stories and l was 16 last time I wrote one!

Over the past year or so, I had contemplated writing another story and last month, I decided to go for it to see if I still could! I scribbled down some notes - outline, characters and the setting and set about working on it.

As soon as I started typing the story, I couldn't stop! I kept on coming up with new ideas as I went along and started getting into the character's heads - what they'd be thinking, how they'd react in certain situations and so on.

I hope to check out some good, LGBTQ+ themed books on here what people recommend :)

Also, if anyone wants to drop me a line, then feel free to :)

Thanks for letting me join this group.
Jay x

Hi,
Its a M/M romantic drama / a coming-of-age story set in 2005.
Hopefully, people will like it considering it's my first ever effort, lol.

Joel Elferink Hi, I’m Joel, new to this group! My debut novel Untold Realms: The Breaking of the Tide is a queer fantasy with themes of belonging, exile, and first love — perfect for YA readers who enjoy character-driven stories with rich worlds and representation. I’m also looking forward to finding more amazing YA LGBT+ books through this group and joining the discussions.

Hi Viggi, welcome and congratulations on the books.

I'm not clear if those are adult or YA stories? I haven't seen BDSM addressed in a way that is appropriate for under-18 teenagers so I'm impressed if you managed a YA-friendly version.
