The Last Summer by Karen Swan. This book is part of a series, I think it may be a trilogy but you would have to check.
Well I just finished and ARC that came out today and it's really good it also has a lot about female friendships, lost friendship and self esteem that is kinda summery. It's called "The Right Kind of Light" if anyone wants to a summer book that's more than just romance
My summer book is Dead Mother, Her Son the Unstable God, and the Joy of Death.I mean it’s summer, it’s hot, so obviously the best way to cool down is to read something emotionally frozen in a dark fantasy freezer and occasionally dripping existential horror. It’s messy, like the writing got into a fight with structure and neither side won, but somehow that adds to the charm.
It also casually pokes at some sacred ideas in a way that feels less like shock value and more like reality quietly glitching.
Honestly, between the chaos and the theological confusion, it still gives this strange feeling of freedom—like summer, but in hell with better storytelling.
Hi everyone! 👋 My name is Benita and I am so excited to join this group. I just released my dark royal fantasy novel, THE KING MUST KILL THE QUEEN, which is now available on Amazon! I highly recommend 😊trust me you would love ittt🥰It's an African-inspired epic packed with political intrigue and deep psychological tension. I would absolutely love it if you could add it to your Goodreads 'Want to Read' list!
Thank you so much for the support! ✨
