Thank you. I look forward to our new topic, though I can't recall the exact title, but it's the "save the villain" theme I mentioned.

On a side note, how very exciting to know you are from Germany! The internet, and goodreads, especially, is such an amazing tool to connect people who would never have met before. What a blessing to speak with you and share common interests.

Blessings,
Janine

Dawn Ireland Hi,
My name's Dawn Ireland, and next to "Once Upon a Time," my favorite words would be "Happily Ever After." So, thank you for letting me join this group! I was a reader before I became an author. I still love stories, especially stories with romance and a touch of magic. I write a straight historical series entitled "Georgians Beyond the Pale," but my Highland stories include magic, because I believe if you're going to find magic anywhere, it would be in that wild, beautiful country. I hope you'll share the stories you've read that make you sigh and smile, because I want to read them too!

Chloe Flowers Greetings all!
I've been an avid romance reader since my early teen years, (thanks to Kathleen Woodiwiss) so it was a natural transition to becoming an author. I've done my time behind a desk in corporate America, as well as teach MBA students about marketing. I've descended from a line of gourmet cooks and operated a gourmet cookie company for 6 years, which is why at the end of my romance novels, readers will find recipes for the food the characters either cooked or ate--I just can't resist.
My Pirates & Petticoats Series begins in the south around the time of the War of 1812. The first 3 books were published this year, the 4th will be out by early fall, at the latest. I'll put the Goodreads links below.
You can get a copy of book one FREE here: www.chloeflowers.com
in exchange for signing up for a (sometimes) monthly email containing recipes, funny stories and book release information.
Here are the back cover blurbs:

Hart's Desire (May 2016)

An independent young lady meets a bold merchant captain pursued by a band of Caribbean pirates...what could possibly go wrong?

After a daring escape, Captain Landon Hart sails the Desire to Charleston for repairs and to keep a mysterious appointment with a plantation owner. He meets a sword-wielding, fiery-haired temptress on the way, and he isn't prepared for the impact she has on his tightly guarded heart...nor the trouble she manages to attract.

Keelan Grey had a solid plan that would save her from an arranged marriage to a cruel plantation owner until a deathbed confession from a loved one plunges her into a dark plot of deception and revenge.

Desperate for help, Keelan finds an unlikely ally in the exasperating but irresistible sea captain. But while she trusts him with her life, can she trust him with her secrets?

Hart's Passion (May 2016)

A pirate king and a risky disguise...

Captain Landon Hart’s plan to snatch Keelan Grey away from his rival immediately goes awry when pirates kidnap her first. As usual, the red-haired vixen ends up neck deep in trouble, and it’s not long before she has the pirate captain demanding her head as well as Landon’s merchant fleet. Even worse, should they find out what he’s smuggling in the walls of his hold, all hell will break loose.

Keelan is determined to discover her true identity, however with a price on her head and an old enemy out for revenge, she can no longer allow the man she loves to risk his life for her. One thing is certain, the pirate Gampo knows she’s aboard and it’s not long before his schooner is spotted on the horizon.

Hart’s Reward (June 2106)
Before Landon and Keelan can set sail for Jamaica in search of the pirates who took her brother and his ship, they have to journey back north to transport a group of runaway slaves to Philadelphia. When an attack leaves Landon with a head injury which erases the last five years of his life, Keelan is forced to fight for the man she loves. Will Landon fall in love with her twice in a lifetime?

Pirate Heiress (Fall 2016)

Reluctant pirate, Stevie Cheramie, is on a quest with her family to find a secret treasure hidden by her great-great grandparents, two notorious pirates, Anne Bonny and Calico Jack Rackham. When her eight-year old twin siblings are kidnapped and the ransom demand is a merchant ship called the Seeker, Stevie must find the courage to conquer her fears and fight for those she loves, including her handsome hostage.

Captain Conal O’Brien is ready to fight for control of his ship until he discovers the pirates commandeering it work for his sworn enemy. What better way to locate the pirate’s secret stronghold than to sail right into it? It’s not long before he realizes these brigands aren’t who they seem to be, and if he’s not careful, he’s going to lose his heart as well as his ship to the woman determined to destroy both.

Tiara Giles Hi everyone! I guess I'm a newbie cause I haven't publushed yet but I am wanting to publish my current project. I write young adult and new adult romance. I am an experience based romance writer. This means I write based off of personal experiences, observations, and inspirations from others lives. I've only gone up to new adult since I am almost 23 and I haven't observed much of women more mature than I. I am working on my last semester in college as an undergrad studying Broadcast Communications. I am a member and Internal vice president of a Multicultural Sorority called Delta Xi Phi. I also have juggled multiple jobs as well. Right now I have one simple job so that I can get through my last semester with flying colors and have time to write more.

My name is Erin andI am a romance writer, interracial, mostly contemporary. I have just published my first novella Blaque Beauty and the Billionaire and it has been such a thrill! I love writing and learning about the world and myself as I create. As you all know, it is quite addictive and nothing is more gratifying than seeing my character reveal themselves to me as I write.

I hve an unhealthy American Girl doll addiction and I love chamomile vanilla tea. I live in NYC and have an adorable puppy and husband - my husband has issues with my oeder of importance lol. I collect Old Country Roses china and I love to cook.

So happy to meet you all and I hope you'll drop a line an say hello :)

Anna Kaling Hi all and thank you for the invite, Ramla!

I write contemporary romance, romcom style (think Jennifer Crusie).

I'm not published yet; I signed with an agent but things are progressing as slowly as they usually do in the world of publishing. ;)

In terms of reading, I like all sub-genres apart from paranormal and inspirational. Looking forward to reading all your reviews and finding some new reads.

message 71: by Jacque (new)

Jacque Hello everyone! What a wonderful group of people.

I live in the mountains of Arizona, where the weather is unpredictable and the people are steady. I spend most of my days raising my son, digging in the dirt, and working on other people's manuscripts, and my nights reading or writing. My husband also has a hard time with my order of importance, lol! @Erin

I'm a developmental editor and author, working on my debut crime/romance novel 'Exposed'. It's gone to beta readers and I have an editor friend all lined up. I have a tentative release date in October.

My work is a little darker than what most seem to be writing here; I like extremely flawed characters who are almost non-redeemable and most of my work is pretty graphic (I try not to be gross, make others sick, or cringe). I love gritty, damaged characters both for reading and writing.

To keep my editing career and my writing separate, I use a pen name. You can find me on Facebook @JaelynTChilds A website is in the works, so I hope to share it with you soon.

It was great to 'meet' ya'll!

Annette Spratte Hello everyone,
I have recently published my first novel The Way of Life
which turned out to be very long because a) I'm in love with detail and b) the story and characters have so much to offer, I just couldn't ignore that.
I basically wrote the story for myself, but everyone who has read it so far really loved it, too. So if you like books that are not over after one night's read, you might want to check it out. :-)
You can find a collection of reviews on my homepage www.annettespratte.jimdo.com

R. Otic Hi, I'm an Italian male author. Two years ago, on summer, I wrote an erotic romance with the love of my life just for fun. Then we decided to publish it using a pen name - mine is R. Otic, her is P. Leasure - and it was an extraordinary success! After a brief experience with the leading Italian publishing consortium, (Rizzoli-Mondandori), we decided to return to our independent status and requested early resolution of the contract to be free to sell it abroad. Now our story is professionally translated in English.
I'm totally new here on Goodreads, so feel free to add me to your friends!

Melina Druga Hi, everyone, new to the group, but been a Goodreads member since 2013. I'm here hoping to connect with 18+ readers with the eventual goal of building a review team and relaunching all my books. You also can connect with me on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Wattpad @melinadruga .

My official bio:

Stories from behind the spotlight — rock star romances that are honest, passionate, and deeply human.

Melina Druga writes heartfelt stories about love, resilience, and the ties that connect us all. Best known for her contemporary rock star romances, she brings authenticity and emotional depth to a world often clouded by stereotypes — crafting stories that reflect the realities of being rock stars and the women who live them.

Her novels blend passion and vulnerability, exploring the complexities of love, identity, and second chances. Each book invites readers into the lives of characters who are flawed, hopeful, and achingly human, reminding us that even in the spotlight, the heart tells the truest story.

Earlier in her career, Melina explored historical fiction and nonfiction, and her love of the past continues to shape the emotional depth and texture of her writing.

When she’s not writing, Melina can often be found listening to music, exercising or watching musicians’ interviews. She believes stories, like songs, have the power to heal, inspire and remind us that love, in all forms, is worth the journey.
