I'm Zara. I love reading and can enjoy any book as long as the story is worth it. I usually enjoy mystery, thriller, romance, and fantasy, and sometimes I also like to read self-help books. My favourite series are the Twsited series, the Empyrean Series, Powerless Trilogy.

Hello, I’m Wendy.
Last year was my first year back to reading after a long hiatus (raising kids and all that). I intentionally explored a wide range of genres and used reading challenges to stretch myself and diversify recommendations.

I didn’t have any true 5-star reads last year — not because I didn’t enjoy my reading, but because my 5-star standard is fairly specific. For me, a 5-star book requires:

Craft + impact + staying power.

A book that leaves no friction behind.

Something that lodges itself in me and doesn’t let go.

I’m comfortable finishing imperfect books, and I’m equally comfortable DNF’ing when something truly isn’t a good fit. I try to rate honestly, separating personal taste from execution and craft.

Up to now, I’ve mostly processed my reading with… ChatGPT (surprisingly helpful!), but I thought it might be good to try engaging with real people who enjoy thoughtful discussion and nuanced takes on books. Looking forward to seeing if this group is a good fit.

I was left a house [a big house]. I sold it. I’m now on my travels. My hobbies are discovering new places, people watching, being in the background (unnoticed), staying footloose and fancy [love - 16th Century] free. I'm presently touring France: I'll be here for a year or two, then I'll head to Italy, from there I'll continue east until they speak something else.
I read the modern world. I don't do sci-fi, fantasy, horror or romance (none of it is real). I do a small amount of fiction, fiction based on reality (not the preposterous).

Hello, I'm Yesi (short for Yesenia). My favorite genre is definitely anything with romance. I do like to read other genres if they get me hooked. My current favorite book would have to be "If only I had told her" by Laura Nowlin, or the "Culpa" series... also the "Tell me" series both by Mercedes Ron. Some of my hobbies outside of reading is painting, coloring, playing video games, and watching movies (mainly based on books I've read). I recently started to pick up reading again so I am excited to any new recommendations that got you hooked and you just couldn't stop talking about it!
