Sage Reedfields Hi Everyone.
Sage Reedfields here, Started the SP journey this April, to me it was a discovery, I've always scribbled down notes and stories but never really pursued publishing. Through a friend I came to know about KDP and Self-Publishing and I was hooked.

Originally I am from Egypt, born and raised but I have been around a lot, my life a series of big changes, and now I reside in the North Star of the Midwest Minnesota and I love it here.
I host a podcast, narrate audiobooks, self-published author and a wanna be voice actor xD

I am now seeking Traditional Publishing also, that is a different game altogether, but in the meantime I am trying to hone my craft and be within the right communities, and I am so glad I came across this one!
Happy to be here and looking forward to interacting with everyone here!

Jack Sri Hi everyone!

I’m excited to be here! My name is Jack P. Sri, and I’m an indie author who loves writing horror, folklore, and supernatural short stories. I’ve recently published Japan Ghost Stories and Korean Ghost Stories, blending traditional myths with eerie twists for modern readers.

I’m passionate about storytelling that creeps under your skin—especially tales inspired by Asian legends, yokai, spirits, and forgotten rituals. I also enjoy experimenting with horror-comedy and have a soft spot for anything that mixes the spooky with the strange.

Looking forward to connecting with fellow writers and readers here. If you enjoy folklore, ghosts, or dark tales with cultural roots, I’d love to chat!

Thanks for having me, and I’m thrilled to learn and grow with this amazing community.

M.K Remi Hey, I’m 21, queer, and a writer who lives somewhere between literary fiction and neo-noir — you know, morally questionable characters, poetic violence, and the kind of dialogue that sounds like it’s been chain-smoking.

I tend to write about quiet chaos, inner unraveling, and people doing the wrong things for the right reasons (or vice versa).

Socially a bit awkward, but I’m here to learn and connect. Really glad to be part of this space.

Anthony Scott Hi all.

I’m Tony Scott, Esq. and I’ve released 2 books this year, “Unlocking Potential: Insights, Tips & Strategies for Young Black Professionals” and “Overcoming Imposter Syndrome: You Belong at the Table!” I’m still trying to figure out what I’m doing here. I will let you in on a secret….come here, closer…I do NOT have my ‘ish together (hence a book on Imposter Syndrome. Lol). Thanks for the add and welcoming me like the old AA meeting I got kicked out of (that’s actually a true story, so, hope nobody found that offensive).

Mrs. Kimberly Hi everyone! I'm Kim and I'm so excited to join this community and connect with like-minded indie authors and readers. I was previously agented and recently decided to self publish my multi-genre novels that have historically been deemed unplaceable because they're a bit of everything: speculative, sci-fi, romance, family saga, literary, thriller, and more.

My work is for readers who love Kazuo Ishiguro, Jennifer Egan, Sarah Pinsker, Taylor Jenkins Reid, Emily St. John Mandel, Ted Chiang, Liu Cixin, Andy Weir, and the like.

I'm a global Tech Product leader who practices creative writing in my free time with a strong interest in the intersection of humanity, technology, and society. My creative work has been published in Poet’s Choice, Beyond Words Literary Magazine, Months to Years, 3rd Wednesday, Free Spirit, 42 Stories Anthology and Ariel Publishing, LLC.

I live in the Washington, D.C. area with my family and our sprightly old beagle and guinea pigs, and when I’m not attending my kids’ sports games or planning our next hiking adventure I’m usually training for a race of some kind.

Danny Gray Hi everyone, I’m Danny.

I’m new to the group and new to publishing in general. I’ve always loved sci-fi, so I decided to try my hand at writing a short story which turned into my first self-published piece, Broken Code. It’s been equal parts exciting and terrifying to finally put something out there.

I’d still call myself very much an amateur, just learning as I go, but I’m enjoying the process and looking forward to picking up tips from others here.

Matthew Elliot -tentative wave-

Hi! I'm Matthew. I'm an Indie writer & reader from New Zealand. I enjoy writing and reading speculative science-fiction fantasy with LGBTQIAP characters and elements. The more diverse the story, the more likely I am to read it and I love to celebrate authors of all walks of life.

Right now I am worldbuilding on my new novel. I finished one recently but haven't decided if I'll publish it until later. I am really focused on this book series and haven't had time to polish the other yet. I love the writing and creating process the best.

What is your favorite part of being a writer or reader?

Hello Matthew and welcome to the group!

I'm honestly not sure how much other members check in this thread, so you might want to post your question as a new topic in The Write Section and/or The Read Section.

Alexander Li-Timmins Hello all.

33 year old married father here. Writing and reading are hobbies for me and not a get rich scheme, I'm a software developer by trade.

A little bit eccentric and very nerdy. Give me some Horror and Thriller books to read. Always open to suggestions.

message 224: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea O'Hara Hi everyone,

I’m Chelsea, an indie author from the UK. I’ve always been drawn to the darker side of the mind in my writing — memory, fear, all the little cracks that make people interesting. I love books that make me second-guess what’s real, and I try to capture some of that feeling in my own work too.

Outside of writing, I read a mix of things (though thrillers and psychological twists are usually my go-to). Looking forward to chatting with people here and hearing about what everyone’s working on or reading!

I am looking for a new genre to try out so if anyone has any suggestions please do let me know!
thanks for having me.

Meghan Saint Hi everyone! I’m Meghan Saint, a Canadian indie author writing darkly funny women’s fiction with bite. My debut, Through (dis)Honest Eyes, is launching October 7 and blends sarcasm, grief, and identity crisis into a story about what happens when the personas we build start to crack.

I come from a background in project management and book marketing, so I love the behind-the-scenes side of publishing almost as much as the writing itself. I’m currently revising a romantasy series (Whispers of Shadows and Gold, May 2026) while slowly turning coffee into plot points and procrastination into “vibes.”

Looking forward to connecting with other authors here—always happy to trade book talk, launch ideas, or mutual “how do I blurb this thing without screaming?” moments.

Marlowe Cadence Hi everyone! I’m Marlowe Cadence, and I’m so excited to be here — this is actually my first time joining a book group on Goodreads, so be gentle 😅

I’m a poet at heart and by habit — I write and read poetry of all kinds and genres, from the delicate and dreamy to the raw and unfiltered. My latest book is called Sugar and Salt; Simple things, Complex feelings, and it’s out now. It’s a collection that lives in the space between tenderness and intensity — kind of like life itself.

I joined this group to connect, share, learn, and (hopefully) find my tribe — the people who feel things deeply and aren’t afraid to talk about it. Whether you love language, imagery, or just those small moments that hit like a lightning bolt, I’d love to hear from you and get to know what moves you.

Thanks for having me 🖤
