plus three more in a favorite series:

I own that one but haven't gotten there yet.

However, I have been reading cozies. I updated my challenge page with my March (and early April) reads (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...), to wit...

From the Kari Lee Townsend series Kalli Ballas/Mind Reader
* A Touch of Malice
* An Inkling of Evil
* Mayhem on the Mind

From the Kari Lee Townsend series Sunny Meadows/Fortune Teller
* Murder in the Meditation
* Cruising Into Danger -- a crossover with the Kalli Ballas series
* Road Trip to Ruin-- a crossover with the Kalli Ballas series
There hasn't been a new "Sunny" book since book 6. The last two books are crossovers as are the next two. The author is working on a next-gen series featuring Sunny & Mitch's (now--then??--grown) children. I'm looking forward to it, but I really enjoy "Sunny's" series.

From the Amanda Cooper (Victoria Hamilton) series Teapot Collector
* Shadow of a Spout
* The Grim Steeper
Seems to be a three-and-done (nothing new since 2016), but I'd read more in the series if they come. It was just starting to grow on me.

From the Cleo Coyle series Coffeehouse
* No Roast for the Weary
So so so good!!! It's a long book, but reads so fast becasue it's so good. Can't wait for the next--and I'm sure it's a year or two away. =o/

I like the mysteries but not so much the characters. Sophie needs to tell Natasha to get lost!
I'm listening to A Study in Murder

It's not very period correct, Amy is rather silly and it's taken me 60% of the book to actually get into it!
I knocked off

I just finished The Body in the Bookstore.
Just love these!

The Christmas charm was nice but the mystery was less high stakes than the previous one. I only figured it out JUST before the characters. I was happy the romance subplot progressed slightly. Slightly... I didn't like the introduction of yet another new assistant without meeting them first. Who's that? What? Why? It's a little weird. Misty has some news she doesn't share with her besties which is also weird.

Reading this just made my brunch decision for me. I have a feeling I'm going to be craving cinnamon twists tomorrow! Are they similar to churros?

What about the series. I TBRed it because the premise sounded fun, but I haven't picked it up. Are other books in the series better, worse, about the same...

So far, kind of so-so. The author is definitely a "pantser" so the stories tend to be pretty wild. The magic isn't clearly defined, Josie's still learning, and it tends to interfere with the mystery plot. I like the book magic but not everything she can do. The romance does develop after some shocking plot twists but Josie can't tell him the truth about herself. I do enjoy the Wilfredians though. I especially like Mrs. Garlington who plays the organ and writes poetry and I like Patty's grandkids, Buffy and Thor. Little Buffy is only about 6 and she's a hustler already, the brains of the Buffy and Thor duo.

However, I can't wait to get back to my favorite cozies. I love the Meg Langslow series, the Bookmobile Car series, and the Cat in the Stacks series. My favorite of all time is the Peter Shandy series by Charlotte McLeod.

Wonderfully charming and funny as usual! I couldn't put it down and can't wait for the next adventure. This is escapist literature at its best.

This was already on my WL; love this series!

me too! And there's indication that the ladies will have more adventures in Littleton Cottrell in the future. I hope so anyway! I don't like the political thriller stuff and prefer it when they're at home in the village. The locals are so quirky and funny. That Daisy is a "gas."

quirky and interesting with cultural references to Latin-American values
My review - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

The mystery was pretty good but a last minute plot twist was totally bizarre. The murderer was a real wacko. Dep has a larger role in this one and her new nemesis, Gigi, a tiny Yorkshire Terrier, has a starring role.

Hi everyone. I am currently reading The Ghost Hunter Next Door by Danielle Garrett and An Ale of Two Cities by Sarah Fox. So far neither one is really inspiring me to read on further. Although The Ghost Hunter is at least making me laugh.

The 11th book in the Claire's Candles series.

and listening on netgalley audio A Most Parisian Murder: A totally gripping and addictive historical cozy murder mystery first foray and the audio is killing me....aargh

Oh that one about Paris looks up my alley. I love the Countess of Harleigh series and as soon as the library has it available for holds, I'll be on the list.

I read that when it first came out and have been watching for a follow-up ever since, but it appears this will be a one-and-done.

I'm assuming it is as well, which is too bad.

WHY is obvious but WHO kept me guessing. It was delightful to see Meg's family back in action and have Duck return. I haven't finished every word but I enjoyed what I did read.

Me too LOL! Maybe if the whole family got together at once they might be close.

I couldn't put it down. I started listening Friday at work and had to finish with the e-book last night. The mystery of the poisoned pen letters was obvious to me but I didn't guess who the murderer was. The magic was what kept me hooked and I'm mad nothing was resolved at the end. I'm sure I know who Josie's nemesis is but I don't yet have the full picture. I'm going to give this a reread from the beginning tomorrow night or Tuesday afternoon.

It started off OK - better than the first, but by page 40 of the large print edition I was ready to smack Lindsay for her "inner New Yorker" comments. I went to NYC a few months ago and everyone was very friendly and nice. It wasn't dangerous either. (I live in a city, it's dirtier, sketchier and the people are a lot less friendly than New York). Then the plot picked up a bit but derailed a lot. Was anyone else offended by the sexism and portrayal of women in this novel? It was awful and unrealistic.
