Hi! I'm Laura from the USA. I read fiction, and not a big fan of nonfiction. I like to escape to other worlds; right now its Regency romances set in London or any countryside village in England. My favorite kind of romances are sweet and clean ones. I've also read many other types of fiction such as contemporary stories, psychological thrillers, and some of Stephen King's works. I love the title of this group; when I came across it, I knew I had to join. I am definitely a book addict.
Hello everyone. My name is Riddle, and I joined Goodreads to find others who love reading and have a similar taste of books to mine. For authors, I do not think I have a favorite one; some of my favorites are Tolkien, GRRM, and Suzanne Collins. Some of my favorite genres are fantasy, historical, such as biographies, and the classics, like Pride and Predjudice. I look forward to meeting some of you!
Hi AllThanks for allowing me to join your group.

I've got my 2026 reading goals in my profile, just started the popsugar readng challenge, and read most genres, though based on my unfamiliarity with the History & Biography nominees in this year's GR Choice Awards, I know I need to pivot (hmmm, should I be a bit salty that the 2025 history.and bios books that I did read weren't nominees???).
I'm open to Buddy Reads (I have a GR bookshelf dedicated to books I'm hoping someone will want to go on the BR journey with). Anyways, that's me.
Hello - I'm Susan from the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mtns in No. Calif. I often read several books at a time, from an old habit in college. My area of interest is historical fiction and recently read James by Percivel Everette, (5 stars), The Dutch House by Ann Patchett (4 stars), Forever by Pete Hamill (5 stars). I once worked in the schools, have written poetry and stories for decades, and believe the power of language can change lives.

Hello, I am Bertron Hamill from Mississippi, and I test air filters in research for the nuclear power and waste industry at Mississippi State University for a living.I love spending time with family and friends in either the cozy comforts of home (whether reading together, watching movies, playing games, or just simple visits as we talk about life) or in the vibrant outdoors camping, fishing, hunting, working a ranch, riding horses, hiking in the forests, or hunting rocks with my fiance. But in more quiet moments, I enjoy the comforts of home in a simple life amidst, when I can get my mind to settle down, I love to read and I love to write.
My grandfather and dad instilled a passion for the hearing, reading, and telling of tales where they enthralled my heart with fairy stories, adventure, lessons, and life itself amidst which Tolkien's Middle-earth ever has my heart from thence to the present and fantasy always claims my heart dearest of the genres as it is so rich with symbolism which is why I write fantasy as well. I can be a bit of a "Bilbo Baggins" at home, so to speak.
My favorite books would be Tolkien's Silmarillion, the Lord of the Rings, Roverandom, and Erin Roach's Doran the Wanderer. Tolkien is one of my favorite authors, but I believe that I should mention that my fiance, Erin Roach, has become a favorite as well as she writes Sherlock Holmes style murder mysteries and Fun Fantasy stories.
Hi, I'm from a military family and living in the UK. I've done the required five-years and I'm now out. The consequences of the stint is that I now answer to Sharpy, and not Mel. I'm rather chuffed: my dad is called Sharpy by his mates, and he is my hero. My parent's house is stacked full of military and modern history books (no surprises there) and I’m drawn to reading of the real world.
Recommendations, please.

Hi! I'm a reader, writer, and mom. I'm a very active, omnivorous reader. I lean mostly toward fiction. Some favorite genres are mystery, thriller, suspense, and humor. It's so hard to pick which authors I love most, like picking between children but some writers I adore are, Liane Moriarty, Kate Atkinson, Anne Tyler, Abraham Verghese, and Ann Cleeves. Looking forward to talking books with everyone! :)
Hello! I'm Courtney. I'm a 34-yo living in Phoenix, Arizona. No one in my life reads aside from me and I've been unsuccessful in finding an in-person book club to join. Hi all.I was left a house [a big house]. I sold it. I’m now on my travels. My hobbies are discovering new places, people watching, being in the background (unnoticed), staying footloose and fancy free. I'm presently touring France: I'll be here for a year or two, then I'll head to Italy, from there I'll continue east until they speak something else.
I read the modern world. I don't do sci-fi, fantasy, horror or romance (none of it is real). I do a small amount of fiction, fiction based on reality (not the preposterous).
Hello, fellow book addicts. I'm Danny Spring, a (new) author and (seasoned) reader. I have had many affairs with novels across my lifetime: some fleetingly intense or playful, others longer term commitments to authors who have fed our relationships with many novels to keep the flame alive.
Who else has felt the heartbreak of coming to the end of an amazing novel... or, worse, the end of an engrossing series... or, worse still, exhausting a favourite authors' catalogue?!
Intentional whimsy aside, I have an eclectic fiction taste that spans 20th-21st century contemporary, YA, fantasy, horror, and humour to early modernist and classical literature. I’m a sucker for a good story and memorable characters. I love a book that makes me feel like I’m experiencing and forget that I’m reading.
I’m popping myself on here to say hello to fellow book lovers. So… hello!
Hello,I'm working from home (at my employer's insistence) and being as productive as I can (he gave me a pay rise). I've come to like my home more and my evenings are now about peace, quiet and reading.
I won't be reviewing every book I read, just those that mean something. I shall rate, more as a reminder more than anything.
