Laura Hello all! My name is Laura, and I've recently joined this group. I love cozy mysteries, decided to see if there were any groups, and found this one. I've already gotten lots of ideas for my to-read list from this group!

message 302: by Teasandpages (new)

Teasandpages Hey everyone, I’m Laura from France and I currently live in the Netherlands. I love to squeeze cozy mysteries in between reads from other genres because they’re so nice to read and I’m always engulfed into the stories!
Nice to find this group :)

message 303: by D (new)

D Marie Hi! I’m D Marie and I’m from Texas. I’m an avid reader and will read anything with words. I came across Cosy Mysteries by accident but was pleasantly surprised to find my new favorite genre. My first Cosy Author was Nic Roberts and I look forward to reading new series and Authors in this genre.

message 304: by Kelly (new)

Kelly I started cozies early on and still read them. They are VERY popular at my library where I have a steady display of them. I tend to read an authour (that's right - there's an extra u - I'm Canadian!) all the way through or until the series seems far too familiar. I'm currently reading a Canadian series by Vicky Delany that is set in a Sherlock Holmes bookstore. She also writes as Eva Gates.

message 305: by Lynne (new)

Lynne I’m Lynne from California. I love cozies and the escape from all the craziness of the world that they offer. I usually will read a series straight through as I am no good at delayed gratification!

message 306: by Libby (new)

Libby Klein Hi! I'm Libby Klein. I'm the author of the Poppy McAllistery Mystery books. I grew up on Nancy Drew and Scooby Doo and learned to love mysteries from a young age, although I think most of my mysteries were in the form of Television. Charlie's Angels, Moonlighting, Remington Steele. Quincy! I probably shouldn't have been watching some of those. Where was my mother?? Oddly enough, most of the books I read in my 20's and 30's were romances. I love a good triangle! Somewhere along the way i found the Cozies. My favorites are a good mix of solving mysteries with some will-they-won't-they. There are so many cozy themes I'd never even heard about until i found some blogs listing hundreds of different series. Knitting, Scrap booking, Coffee, Tea, Wine. Wow. I really love the culinary cozies. My only problem is I'm so open to the power of suggestion that i want to eat whatever they're talking about in the story. I had to move away from cupcake cozies because i can't afford to buy all bigger clothes. I haven't found a salad series yet, but I'm open to suggestions. I've met so many new friends through reader circles that I now have a stack of recommendations to keep me busy for years. I'm hoping to take part in some of the doings in the group here soon!

I miss those golden days of Saturday morning cartoons. Remember when they had plots? Who remembers watching the Fall preview specials of the upcoming season of Saturday morning cartoons?

I do! I also liked H.R. Pufnstuf, but was too old for Sigmund and the Sea Monster. My little brothers watched it, I think.

message 313: by Lucia (new)

Lucia Davis Hi, my name is Lucia and I love mysteries of all kind. I am the mother of three young children and we live in Michigan. I am also the author of The Dunnhill Series.
Looking forward to discover new books to expand my TBR list!

message 314: by Don (new)

Don Satalic I joined because I discovered that my latest book The Dummy Case was actually a cozy mystery owing to its PG-13 treatment, which wasn't the case with my other novel. It wasn't intentional really, but it just turned out that way.

So I thought I'd hang around and see if I can learn more.

message 315: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Hello, I am Deborah but it dwindles down to Deb most of the time even by me. I love reading mostly non-fiction but I am trying to broaden my genre. I love coffee. (Yep I am one of those that can drink 3 cups and take a nap.) I love traveling, writing, photography, and reviews. Not always in that order.

message 316: by Neryn (new)

Neryn Hello everyone!

I'm a college student, studying to hopefully become a publisher in the near future and I'm an avid reader of cozy mysteries, but not just that, venturing into the more gruesome thrillers and mysteries, the shock and sometimes gut wrenching tales not bothering me as much as they probably should, and I still find the time to read some fantasy novels.
My go to author for mysteries is and always will be Agatha Christie (I don't have all her books, yet, I plan on fixing that error), my favorite character of hers being Hercule Poirot. But I hope Sophie Hannah will fill in the void that Christie left behind.

I hope to meet and talk to some of you about your favorite books and authors, always open for a good discussion. Not to mention that I hope I'll find new books, authors and involving stories from all of you!

message 317: by Kristin (new)

Kristin Hi, I'm Kristin. I like reading cozy mysteries, sometimes paranormal, sci-fi, some young adult books. I live in Iowa.

Michelle Hi Everybody,

My Name is Michelle. This is my first time to join a group online, and I would really love to discover more cozy mystery books, any suggestions? I'm currently reading "Scottsdale Shuffle" by B.A. Trimmer. I love this series and I definitely recommend. Some authors that I also recommend is Camilla Chafer, Traci Andrighetti, and Gemma Halliday. I just love this genre, it's easy to read yet lots of adventures. What's more wonderful is anybody in different age group can read it, isn't it amazing?! :)

Libby Welcome!

message 327: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Teller Cozy mysteries are my favorite in the crime fiction genre, too, which is why I write them. I wish I had a job with lots of downtime that allowed me to read them!

message 328: by Gillian (new)

Gillian Hello!! I'm Gillian and ever since starting my job at the public library I discovered my love of the "cozy mystery". Having a love of Harry Potter and branching out to some YA books and adult thrillers, i settled down with the audio editions of the ScotShop series by Fran Stewart. Fell in love!! I'm always looking for good recommendations for cozy mysteries as well! My favorites include a Scottish/Irish/U.K. location! I am currently reading "Buried in a Bog" reading by Sheila Connolly! Thank you for letting me join the group!

message 330: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Hi all my name is Amanda, I’ve enjoyed reading from childhood and like you have a huge soft spot for a good mystery or thriller and always up for a good horror as well. I’m looking forward to hearing about everyone’s books and thoughts and can’t wait to share mine and hopefully get some good fresh reading suggestions 😊reading is my down time between work parenting and studying and so I’m trying now to make a more conscious effort for some me time to read and relax 😊

message 331: by Jamison (new)

Jamison Hi! I’m Jamison and I have also been an avid reader since childhood. I read a bit of everything, but love a good mystery to curl up with when I am unwinding. I’m looking forward to seeing what others are reading!

message 332: by Shelly (new)

Tracy Smith Hi!! I am Tracy and I love to read just about anything. I have recently begun reading cozies and I am loving finding all of these wonderful authors. I love going through your posts to see what everyone is enjoying to add to my TBR list.

message 334: by Wendy (new)

Wendy J. Hello, I'm Wendy from the midwestern U.S. I'm a retired English teacher, and I've been a mystery lover since my Nancy Drew days. I've enjoyed many types of mystery - detective series, suspense, thrillers, gothic romances, spy novels, historical -- but I tend to gravitate towards the cozy genre.

I don't like overly cutesy cozies (I haven't read much of the cat/recipe/quilt-themed stories, but maybe I'm missing out). I can tolerate some bad language and adult themes, but I don't like anything overly graphic. I'm tired of the trend of unreliable narrators and alcoholic/otherwise damaged detectives.

I guess I like a good middle-of-the-road cozy with a likeable detective, an intelligent plot, characters who leap off the page, and a setting that makes me want to be there. I'm sure this group will lead me to some new and fantastic mysteries! Thank you.

message 335: by hana (new)

hana Hi all. I go by Hana. I'm from Australia and was so pleased when Kindle AU finally has Unlimited (I literary whooping in the middle of the night). now my reading list is endless. I sincerely thank this group for introducing Cozy Mystery genre to me. It was eye-opening. I have read nothing but Cozy since I discover this genre. Look forward to discovering some good book and meeting new people. happy reading everyone

message 336: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Ransom Hi all! I am Melissa from Columbia, SC. I have been reading cozy mysteries ever since grade school starting with Nancy Drew. I am excited about connecting with other cozy mystery fans in this group.

message 337: by Cindy (new)

Cindy I have been lurking for awhile, but realized that I haven't introduced myself. I am Cindy. I am a librarian at a very little rural branch library in Northern Michigan (think library the size of a bedroom and I am the only employee). My job is what got me into cozy mysteries actually. I had a patron return a cozy that she said she loved so I looked up some cozies and got hooked! I love Jim and Joyce Lavene's books and Donna Andrews books crack me up every time. In elementary school I read a lot of Nancy Drew and I read a lot of Agatha Christie in middle school, but after that mysteries kind of went to the wayside for me. I am glad that I have since come back to them because they are such fun to read. I am working tirelessly trying to get my 10 year old to at least try Nancy Drew, but alas she is just not that interested despite being the recipient of first editions passed on to her from her grandmother.

message 338: by Gary (new)

Gary Sundell Cindy You might want to read Deb Baker's Gertie Johnson series. They are set in the UP and they are incredibly funny.

Linda Alonzo Hello! My name is Linda and I love cozy mysteries. My mother introduced me to Agatha Christie and ever since then I have a hard time reading any other genre. I am in a book club to try to broaden my horizons, but find myself going back to my cozy mysteries. I look forward to getting to know you all.

message 345: by RachaelV (new)

RachaelV Hello. My name is Rachael and I just joined this group. I live in Canada and love curling up with a murder mystery, a warm tea and a cozy blanket. My mom and I shared a love for murder mysteries and although she has now passed, I feel close to her still when I read. I wish I had more hours in the day to read.

message 346: by Preston (new)

Preston Shires Hi, I'm Preston, I'm from Nebraska, and, of course, I live on a farm...but I also teach history at a local community college. My interest in cozies started with Agatha Christie, and I still tend to like British cozies because they take me out of my midwestern world. However I also read mysteries in French, currently historical fiction cozies set in the mid-1850s. Though I also have read several of Cara Black's nearly contemporary Parisian mysteries. I write historical fiction and have also written just plain history, but I do the former for fun.

message 347: by stephanie (new)

stephanie Hello! Just came across your page when wanting to discuss my addiction of James Patterson. I read just about anything but always have a JP book on hand. No matter what I'm reading I can always shove it aside for a JP book. Seeing your cozy mystery books on the main page makes me want to shove all books aside (other than JP) and dive in. Recommendations are always welcome!
So anyway - I'm your typical book nerd - always a book or 4 on hand..... I am the mother of 3, grandma to 1, and a elementary teachers aide. Love dreary days to give me the best reason to curl up with a book, coffee, maybe one or both my feline babies and just read all day :)

message 348: by Mina (new)

Mina Hello! I'm Mina. I've been lurking for a few months and just realized I forgot to introduce myself. Love cozies, especially with a pot of tea and the kitty monster snoozing on the sofa.
