Agatha Chocolats Hi everyone! I'm a fellow mystery buff. I've been a cozy reader and writer for years, and just recently published my first chocolate themed mystery. Culinary and holiday themes are my favorite.

I'm so excited to be a part of this group, and hear about what you are reading.

Welcome. Chocolate Cozies sound divine.

message 206: by Ruth (new)

Ruth Danes Hi, my name is Ruth Danes and I am an author. The book I have just had published is definitely not a cozy mystery but I do love this genre. I think they are perfect holiday and comfort reading. I like Poirot and the Hamish Macbeth books.

message 207: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten Welcome, Ruth! I like Hamish Macbeth too!

message 208: by Sammie (new)

Sammie Hi. I'm Sammie. I'm an avid reader and love cozy mysteries. It might have something to do with growing up reading Nancy Drew. I have two favorite spots to read a good cozy mystery. Either sitting on the beach soaking up the sunshine, or in my comfy chair on a cold rainy day with a mug of hot chocolate. While mysteries are my favorites, I also like to read romance, be it contemporary or historical, and I have so many authors I follow. I'm always ready to talk about good books!

message 209: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Tyler Hello. My name is Natalie and I’m looking for some well-written cozy series to follow. I like the “golden age” of British mysteries. Like Sammie, I started with Nancy Drew and continued with Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie. I don’t mind a bit of gore or some thrillers but I really also would like some “cozy” reads too, I really do not like “noir” books at all.

message 210: by Karen (new)

Karen Holman Natalie author of the month Victoria Thompson has an excellent series that is written about times in the late 1800's and early 1900's. I am looking forward to her new historical series. Hopefully this group will be able to give you more ideas. The Gaslight series has 18 plus books in it and reading in order gives characters meaning. enjoy the holiday season

message 211: by Jann (new)

Jann Martin Hi Natalie, I have started reading Johnnie Alexander's books. This one is really good. https://www.amazon.com/Where-Treasure...

I am looking forward to meeting new authors and discovering new books.

Hello Ayiana! Good evening, how are you today? Nice to meet you. Welcome to the group, it is nice to have you. I like mysteries and romance as well! And believe it or not, I'd prefer not to say, but I'm not far off from your age either. I think we are both the youngest. Ha ha. Have a nice day and God bless.

message 220: by LakesideReader (new)

LakesideReader Hi there, I just joined your group hoping to focus my reading. I suffer from literary ADD and I am constantly sidetracked into reading other books before finishing my current reads. I also want to track what I read.

I'm just learning my way around the website and I am new to book groups. Is there an easy way to track my group reading lists & challenges, or do I just need to restrict my 'Currently Reading' list?

Thanks

You can keep track of your personal challenges in the Members Reading/Challenge Lists section. Click on "new topic" to set up your own list.

Maybe I misunderstood how these worked...I thought lists created were for individual use? I didn't realize other people would be posting to my lists. Is there a way to make them private?

message 232: by Mona (new)

Mona Marple Hi everyone!

Pleased to be here :)

I'm Mona, and I'm a cozy reader and writer - I absolutely adore cozy mysteries and am excited to be here to chat about my favourite books with lots of likeminded people.

Like lots of us I think, I was raised on Agatha Christie, Midsomer Murders, Columbo etc by my mum.

I love the escape that a cozy mystery book provides.

Pleased to be here!

message 233: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Machin Hi I'm Lisa, I'm a lifelong reader of Agatha Christie, but I love the whole murder mystery genre. I'm currently trying my hand at plotting my own cozy mystery, and I'm having a ball!

I'm in Shropshire, UK, and when I'm not at work (my hubby & I have a boatyard on the canal) I usually have my nose in a book.

Thanks everyone for such an interesting thread.

Lisa

Lisa - I live on a sailboat so was really interested to read that you have a boatyard. Are you setting the cozy mystery you're working on in a boatyard? If so, I'd love to hear more about it. Cheers - Ellen
