Morning Lyla :) I don't mind audio books, my favourite types of books have to be the physcial kind, I like turning those pages! I am however enjoying ebooks on my kindle device as well. :)

Desiree Hi everyone!

I’m new to this group but it is my favorite group I’ve joined so far. I live in Los Angeles, CA and I work for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office investigating deaths — so you could say mysteries are kind of my thing both on and off the clock. I’m an avid reader, coffee goblin & proud cat cohabitant. I’m always on the hunt for new cozy mystery reads & can’t wait to swap recommendations with all of you. I also enjoy horror novels, thrillers/crime, and fantasy books. I’m really looking forward to making new bookish friends and adding way too many titles to my TBR mountain!

-Desiree

Terri DiPietro Hi everyone!😊 My name is Terri, and I'm just another book lover from small town Ontario, Canada. My favourite go-to's are obviously cozy mysteries and paranormal cozy mysteries, but I'll read just about anything I can get my greedy little hands on. Looking forward to being part of the group!

message 1159: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hi! I'm Sandra. I've just rejoined Goodreads after being off for a while. Looking forward to hanging out with some Cozy lovers. I love mysteries and thrillers! Also enjoy some fantasy now and then, and I love Stephen King. I read exclusively on my Kindle. It is my Precious.
I'm in Virginia with my husband. We have a grown daughter, and I have a wonderful stepson and daughter-in-law who gave us a beautiful grandson a little over a year ago.
I am by no means a good example of a Christian, but I love Jesus.
I'm also an animal lover.
That about it. Nice to meet you all!

Agnes Spellman Hi everyone!

I'm Agnes Spellman, and I'm thrilled to join this cozy mystery community! I'm a cozy mystery author with a twist—I create murder mysteries set (so far!) in the glamorous 1920s, featuring word searches that provide clues to help readers solve the case. My passion for cozy mysteries and classic Agatha Christie-style whodunnits inspired me to blend puzzles and suspense for a unique reading experience.

I'm new to Goodreads and groups like this one, so I hope this introductory post is okay. I plan on being an active part of this wonderful community—after all, books are way better than reality!

Looking forward to chatting with you all!

My current favourite cozy mystery series is the Vacation Mysteries series by Catherine Mack. I write reviews for most of my reads and am looking to grow my account here and connect with other readers who have the same interests in books.

Abdullah Khalefh I'm Abdullah, author of Whispers of the Shape of Love. I'm passionate about emotional storytelling—especially love stories that explore the quiet moments, unspoken feelings, and the depth of human connection.

Romance, to me, isn’t just about happily ever after; it’s about vulnerability, growth, and the beauty found in both joy and heartbreak.

I'm hoping to join Novel Friends to share my work, connect with others who value meaningful themes, and be part of a thoughtful community of readers and writers who appreciate the emotional power of a well-told story.

message 1167: by Penny (new)

Penny Hi, I'm Penny Frost McGinnis from Ohio. I'm an author, reader, reviewer, and retired librarian. My favorite genre is cozy mysteries, and I'm in the process of writing my first one. Some of my favorite cozy authors are Jackie Layton, Annie McEwen, and Amanda Flower. I was happy to find this group!

message 1168: by Christy (new)

Christy Hi, my name is Christy and I'm from Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia. I'm a mum of 6, I'm student and I work for my university. I recently celebrated my birthday and got a Kobo which has increased my reading exponentially (I really don't have the bookshelf space for my love of reading). I generally read Fantasy with a side of mystery, but now that I have an ereader I have delved in the cozy mystery for when my brain just needs something easy to read and I am never going back!!

message 1169: by Peter (new)

Peter Koronaios I'm Peter, I'm not sure if this is exactly the best group, but it works. Among other subjects I do like mysteries (less about adventures, though). Started out as a teenager, with a series of books known as The Three Investigators (US), then became a great fan of Sherlock Holmes, now also a great fan of Chesterton's Bather Brown series. Only read some, not all, of Agatha Christie's books

message 1170: by suchi (new)

suchi Hi everyone!

I’m Suchi. Mystery and thrillers have always been my go-to genre. I enjoy everything from psychological thrillers to mystery series, and I'm always looking for books that keep me up way too late reading “just one more chapter.” I’m looking forward to discovering some new favorite reads here.

message 1171: by Alejandro (new)

Alejandro Hi everyone! I’m Alejandro, from Tarragona-Spain. I’ve always been a fan of reader (not than much as kid), now I’m enjoying it more than ever, especially of fantasy, science fiction and mystery thrillers. Lately, I’ve been exploring more contemporary and historical fiction too. Some of my favorite writers are Sarah J. Maas, Rebecca Yarros, Peter V. Brett, Paolini Christopher and Patrick Graham. I joined this club to connect with fellow book lovers, discover new books and expand my reading list. Looking forward to reading with you all! Can’t wait to get some great book recommendations! Excited to be here!!!

message 1172: by RahJah (new)

RahJah Hi Everyone!

I’m RahJah. I’ve been on Goodreads and part of this group for a while, but I haven’t really had the chance to navigate it fully so I’m excited to finally jump into the conversations!

I enjoy psychological thrillers, mysteries, as well as psychological mysteries, but I’m open to all genres. I love suspense, anticipation, and a big reveal no matter the genre, sometimes I have to stop myself from skipping ahead just to see what happens next! I love fragrances, so when I’m not reading, I’m probably pairing a perfume to a mood, outfit, or a book because every scent has a story!

Looking forward to swapping recs, joining discussions, and connecting with fellow book lovers!

message 1173: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Wilson Im Victoria and at one time I wasnt such a big reader. I had a first grade teacher that made me feel like I was stupid when it came to reading. When I was reading at a young age it was either Goosebumps or Babysitters Club. It wasnt until after High School that I really got into reading thanks to the Harry Potter books.

I like to read any type of murder mysteries, psychological thrillers, horror, some fantasy/romance and fantasy/adventure. I also like to read YA and juvenile.

Some of my favorite authors are Ruth Ware, Riley Sager, Anthony Horowitz, and Lisa Jewell.

A goal of mine is to get these book ideas I have in my head down to paper. One is a juvenile fantasy adventure series about 2 sisters that fall through a blue hole into this magical fairy realm and have to find their way home. Another is a psychological thriller where a teacher moves to a new town and strange things are happening in her new home. Is it haunted or is it all just in her head? And finally, me and my aunt are working on a cozy murder mystery series about two sisters in their 60s living in a small town full of crazy characters, dead bodies, and a witch in the woods.

message 1174: by Sydney (new)

Sydney Hello! I’m Sydney and I love a good mystery. Especially one I can cozy up in my bed and just chill. I also love thrillers but sometimes you need a good old mystery that’s a little more relaxed.

message 1175: by Crystal (new)

Crystal Lucero Hello.. I'm Crystal and mysteries of any kind are my favorite genre. Ellery Queen, Agatha Christie, Leslie Meier, and Eva Gates are a few of my favorite mystery authors. I hope to make some book friends!

message 1176: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Bisping Hi everyone!
I’m Tiffany—a stay-at-home mom who loves curling up with a good cozy mystery after a long day of toddler chaos. There’s something so comforting about charming small towns, clever amateur sleuths, and a little bit of murder with my tea.

While I also enjoy darker thrillers, I’ve been reaching more for cozy reads lately—especially the ones with strong characters, satisfying reveals, and a hint of humor. I’m really looking forward to being part of this group and discovering some new favorites!

Happy to connect with fellow cozy mystery fans—feel free to send a friend request!

message 1177: by J (new)

J Koontz Hi Everyone! I'm Jason a Cozy Mystery author and fan. Well, admittedly, I'm a fan of many types of books, but I find the idyllic towns and characters in Cozy Mysteries to be incredibly appealing. I am glad to be joining the community.

message 1178: by Loretta (last edited Aug 13, 2025 08:11PM) (new)

Loretta Allseitz Hey y'all! My name is Loretta! I am a Texas-based author whose passion for atmospheric thrillers and small-town crime novels infuses every page with tension and authenticity. Nestled in a quiet lake-town cabin, I draw inspiration from the mist-shrouded shores, moss-draped oaks, and hidden undercurrents of rural life. My debut novel, Teardrops of Lake Tawakoni, follows a married detective duo as they untangle ritualistic murders marked by a chilling teardrop symbol. A lifelong fan of suspense and psychological depth, I blend local color with forensic detail to create morally complex characters you’ll never forget. When I'm not crafting my next twist, you’ll find me devouring true-crime podcasts, exploring backroads, playing with my 2 fur-babies or mapping out the perfect plot twist.

Check out my first book release - Teardrops of Lake Tawakoni - available on Amazon now! https://a.co/d/hEeZGiJ

message 1185: by Valerie (new)

Valerie Hi everyone! I’m new here and thought I’d introduce myself. I’m Valérie, Canadian, total book lover, and dog mom. I have ADHD and a generalized anxiety disorder, and reading/writing has always been my way to channel some of that.

I recently started writing cozy mysteries, which has been both fun and terrifying, but mostly a dream come true. I’m really looking forward to being part of this group, chatting books, and getting to know other cozy fans.

message 1186: by Tulip (new)

Tulip Hello!

I’m Tulip, new here, and fairly new to cozy mystery books.

For the last few years, although I am not much of a TV watcher, I’ve found myself binging Murder She Wrote episodes and Hallmark mystery movies with my mom. And I must say I’ve thoroughly enjoyed doing so. Hence, my desire to read cozy mysteries.

Glad to be here and looking forward to adding new titles to my TBR list.

message 1187: by Hilly (new)

Hilly Hello,
If I'm not at work, rowing or cooking, I'm reading. I read that which reflects the world we live in. I don't read fantasy, horror, sci-fi: you get the idea.

message 1188: by Taylor (new)

Taylor Jakovina Hi everyone! I’ve been a lifelong thriller reader — honestly a bit of a shut-in reader until now, mostly chatting about books with my close friends and family. I feel like I’ve gone through so many of the big “classic” psychological thrillers, and I’m really hoping to discover some more unexpected or edge-case recs here.

I especially love cat-and-mouse stories and domestic thrillers, and I get hooked by anything character-driven (I’m fine with a good slow burn). I’m based in Ohio, and once the weather turns cold I tend to hunker down with books, so I’m trying to stockpile my TBR now. Excited to swap recs and broaden my reading community beyond my usual circle!

message 1193: by Mia (new)

Mia Hello! My name is Mia! This is my first group to join on GoodReads. I got on GoodReads after I saw Gab Smolders use it and it looked nice! I'm hoping that I can start clearing my bookshelf out (by reading them). I ABSOLUTELY LOVE art history books, the classics, and historical books and some mystery books! I would love recommendations if anyone has any!

Some of my favorite authors are
"Jessica Fletcher"
Lois Lowry
and many more
