MoniTheTigerEmpress Heya, I'm Moni!

I'm from Australia. My favourite genres to read are horror, mystery, thriller, vampire, paranormal and fantasy. I generally try to read many different genres when I can.

Jacob Martin Hello Hello!

My name is Jacob! I'm from Texas, but currently living in the Chicagoland Area for the last year and a half! My GF and I have two cats and are both currently getting back into reading! OH! We are also joining a book club at our local Barnes & Noble next Tuesday! I am always willing to read a new genre as I love expanding my palette! I think that's all for me now, but I'm looking forward to talking with y'all and reading some of your favorite stories!

message 1105: by Susan (new)

Susan Marshall Cozy day, everyone :)

My name is Susan L. Marshall and I am an Australian contemporary author, who loves cozy mysteries. July 2024, saw the release of "Adira and the Dark Horse," my first novel in the 'An Adira Cazon Literary Mystery' series. It is a cozy mystery, which I really enjoyed writing.
One of the things I love about cozy mysteries, is the intimacy we feel when we get to know the town, the characters and the life that evolves. Would any of you agree that it makes us feel more connected to the characters?

message 1106: by Hazel (new)

Hazel Hi Everyone, I'm Hazel. If I'm not working (in a water sports centre), I'm on the water, or in the water, (unintentionally a lot of the time) or reading. They're a strange lot, the on the water set. You can get soaked through on a water ski, yet should you fall in, the first thing asked when you come ashore is, "Get wet, then?"
My favourite books are thrillers that make good sense and books that I can learn from.

Barb Ronda wrote: "I am from Ohio - a college student - finally finishing my B.S. I crochet, listen to t..."

LOL At first glance, I read this as "finishing my B.S. in crochet," and wondered where on earth you'd get a degree in crocheting :)

Welcome to the group, everyone!

message 1120: by Masoodah (new)

Masoodah Akooji Hi guys. Masoodah here! I love curling up with a good mystery/thriller book every now and then so looking foward to taking part in discussions and finding new mystery books.

Will be taking part in challenges as I love a challenge! :)

message 1121: by Karen (new)

Karen Brooks - TheTxLitChic Hi y'all! I'm Karen and I live in Texas. I'm a wife, mom, grandma, dog mom and book addict. No seriously, I'm a huge book addict and when I find an author I love I end up reading everything they put out!

When not reading I love to paint - don't claim to be Van Gogh but it brings me joy. When the husband is involved we are either cruising, fishing/camping, riding side by sides or hanging out with the family. We have a large family so family time usually revolves around one of the aforementioned activities.

My fav genre to read is psychological thrillers with paranormal/cozy mysteries a close second. I tend to bounce around a lot when reading - and life - so one day I may be reading whatever holiday we are close to with the next day reading something dark and demented LOL. I love the feel and smell of a traditional book but due to how fast I read and as much as we are away from the house I have transitioned to the Kindle/Books app on my iPad as the husband complains enough about the luggage I bring just housing the necessities to function daily, he would never survive me trying to bring all the books needed to make a week or longer away from the house :p.

I'm happy to be here and an open book so feel free to reach out if you have questions!!! I can't wait to see what the group has going on!!!

OK, I will hush now and end the novel of a simple intro :p

message 1122: by Mary (new)

message 1123: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Hi, I'm Morgan from South Carolina!

** I like mystery, thriller, fiction, and autobiographies. My favorite place to read is on my cozy back porch - with the string lights on, curled in a blanket, and surrounded by a million plants.

** I'm a pet mom of two senior dogs and two senior cats. They're the children I never had and I love it!

** When not reading I am traveling, volunteering, and finding adventurous places to see within a 1-3 hour drive from my home.

message 1124: by Suzanne (last edited Dec 13, 2024 12:16PM) (new)

Suzanne Hi I’m Suzanne from a small town in the shores of Lake Erie in Canada. I enjoy cozy mysteries as a break from my work and those heavier contemporary and historical fiction reads. I love to travel, exploring the outdoors on foot or in a kayak, learning new things and spend my summers in my flower and vegetable garden.

message 1125: by Nadine (new)

Nadine Hiya, my name is Nadine!

I live in Colorado, USA. I love mysteries, thrillers, and the cozy aesthetic and lifestyle. I've tried a few cozy mystery books, but in my humble opinion, 80%+ of the books I find are not well-written. Just because something is cozy - doesn't mean it should have a stale plot, bad editing, or a predictable ending! If anyone, author, or reader has any suggestions, please let me know! Bonus points if it's available on Libby or Hoopla.

I read the rules and didn't see anything against personal social media promo; feel free to add me on Instagram @jeeze_ruiz

Feras Al Saif Hello all,
My name is Feras. I like to read about anything falls under my eyes. But, mostly I prefer the mystery with the twisted ending. In some cases, I like to read the book and watch the movie and make comparison which one is better, and mostly reading the book is much better.
I also like to watch movies of all genres. The best movie I ever watched (many many times) is The Matrix. I like to go the gym and I’m addicted on coffee

If you loved Harry Potter, Berserk, The Witcher, and Lord of the Rings, I think you might like "Blood of the Heir: Volume 1" by I. Constantine.

A dragon takes Cedric to another world where endless rain floods the lands and monsters are treated like gods. He needs to find a way back and survive while bearing the title instigator of battle, as ancient devils locked into their old prison escaped at the same time with Cedric's arrival.

Andrew Morning all. I thought I would post here and this is a reintroduction of myself if you like as I have not been here for some time and I really kind of missed this. So, my name is Andrew. I love books. I had a good clear up, bit of organisation of my good reads profile, removing books and really just starting fresh i.e. adding books as I read them. Anyway, as I am not as busy as I used to be I intend keeping tabs on what's going on here and really grateful for this platform.
