I can't wait to give your suggestions a go, thank you a..."
You're so kind, thank you. Scottish people are known to be very friendly and welcoming, especially in rural areas where I live. I'm so glad you enjoyed your travel to my country. I've been to Rome before when I was younger and I so desperately want to go back, the food was unbelievable!

Since I started reading, I have always enjoyed a good thriller/crime/adventure fiction. I abide by Agatha Christies. Poirot is my all time favourite ^^
One thing that attracted me most towards joining this group was the name!! Nothing excites me more than reading a good thriller while curling up with my pillow while its raining :)
(also i have a cat but he is not very keen to accompany me while i read; he rather idle somewhere else )

I'm Lee Strauss from Canada (and sometimes Germany). I just found this group and I'm excited to discover new cozy mystery books. I'm also an author. My newest series is the Ginger Gold Mystery..."

Welcome aboard Tee, my name's Tiziana, I'm from Italy and I like mysteries too, especially those ones with historical setting. :-)
I can see you have a cute cat image in your profile picture, so I guess you love cats as I do too.
Feel free to ask my friendship in case you're looking for friends :-)
This is really a lovely group, enjoy it !

I sporadically read CM, sticking mostly to ordinary thrillers but hope to shift toward CM a bit more.
I hope to find here recommendations for new books and share thoughts.
Happy reading, everyone!

I am Bella and I am new to Goodreads. I enjoy a cozy mystery and love reading thrillers, psychological thrillers and a little horror. Love Stephen King. I am a chocolate lover and have to have my coffee to start my Monday mornings. I hope to find book recommendations and would love to buddy read in the future. Happy Reading everyone.

Happy reading, everyone!

I am new and still don't understand it

Have you read looking glass sound or the maid?

What's English cottage style? Is it a mystery set in the English countryside? Is it a cozy mystery too? I googled it but what I found were books about English cottages.

Hi Hannah

I've been on Goodreads for a while now, although I didn't really have time to use it, but I want to change that.
I'm a student and enjoy reading all sorts of books, except horror ones, + my guilty pleasure is everything about Miss Marple by Agatha Christie.
For the past few months, I've been hooked on cozy mysteries.
I'm always looking for recommendations (maybe books where the main character is not the prime suspect or suspect at all? - I want to try something new).
Looking forward to chatting about books with all of you! 😊📚

I like that idea! Most of my main characters have not been suspects. Check out my favorites when you have time on my profile.

I'm not entirely sure yet which genre(s) I like the most since everything is new to me, but from what I've read in the last few months, I think I gravitate towards Suspense/Thrillers/Mysteries, Fantasy, Historical Fiction, and maybe a tad bit of romance if it's not too cheesy.
Feel free to send me a friend request! I would love to have some friends to exchange opinions with and share recommendations.

I’m from the Bay Area in California. I’ve recently joined and looking to meet some new people who also enjoy reading as much as I do. I love a good mystery/thriller. A lot of my love for this genre comes from movie adaptations.
Hoping to get to know everyone. I’m open to all recommendations 😊

I don't really understand how to reply here, but to Preston, what I mean by an English cottage style mystery is something like Agatha Christie, Margery Allingham, Dorothy Sayors, Martha Grimes. A small village, quirky characters, perhaps a precursor to the modern cozy?

I've just started reading 'Poison at the Village Show by Catherine Coles. I'm looking for ideas to start exciting new readings!

My favorite genre reads are Fantasy, Mystery, Romance, and most recently, Dystopian. I'm open to reading Agatha Christie but I haven't read any of those books before. I look forward to discussing with everyone in this group & hope to have fun! :D

Feel free to add me on GR or instagram :)

I want to get into more mystery and have bought a ton of them over the years such as Agatha Christie etc.
But I'm not sure where to start, being in a reading slum..."
Hi Kirsty from Scotland! I love Agatha Christie too. A few other writers from that era are ALLINGHAM Margery -, Dorothy L. Sayers, and Ngaio Marsh.
I hope you love them as much as I do!

Hi Isabella,
I thought Gina Lamanna's Magic & Mixology Mystery Series was a fun mix of magic, mystery, and romance. I wish I had thought of it!
Hex on the Beach

I hope everyone gets to have a sweet day! 🍓🤸🏽♀️
Additional, be sure to check out the group bookshelf. You’ll find books under numerous subjects there, such as culinary, cats/dogs, and different holidays.
