(b) I am From Beautiful London
(c) My Favourite Authors: Erle Stanley Gardner, Agatha Christie, John Grisham
(d) My Favourite Books: Compiled a Big list and waiting to add more to my profile
Kind Regards,
Brenda

my name is jennifer. I am a student at Jeff Davis High School. I love mystery novels especially the murder mystery novels.

By profession I am Professor, Model and now an Author as well
I am happy to be a part of the group and would be highly honored if you all would take time and read it.
you can also find a video trailer of the same

I also love classics, romance that isn't too steamy, memoirs of people I've never heard of before, and most especially cozy mysteries. My favorite cozy authors are Joanne Fluke (Hannah Swenson Mystery Series with Recipes) and Laurien Berenson, author of the Melanie Travis Canine Mysteries.

...I don't want to be reading something heavy.
I think that's the appeal, isn't it? You know that nothing very bad is going to happen. When there's a murder, usually the person who was murdered wasn't a very nice person, and people's lives will often be better without him.
I've read books which are quite good and well written, but really quite miserable, and left me feeling mildly depressed, and needing read something light and fluffy to cheer myself up. A cosy won't leave you feeling like that.

I do love a well written cozy, though, and I'm glad to have found this corner of GoodReads! Other genres I enjoy are Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Speculative Fiction, and thrilling non-fiction (currently reading The Poisoner's Handbook, which details the birth of forensic science).
I also write the Heirlooms of Deception series, which is cozy-ish and suitable for all ages (even if it's written primarily for adults). I'm pretty adamant about writing something that won't scar my children should they read over my shoulder.
In addition, I collect/use/love fountain pens and papers of all kinds. I tend to horde stationery, much to the dismay of my husband and the overstuffed shelves. My pen pals, however, love it!

Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm an avid reader and writer and I recently delved into cozy mysteries. I particularly like the ones that have recipes in the back since I LOVE cooking, ha. Can't wait to get to know more about the group.
Regards,
Caitlin

Guten tag! Wie geht's?
I took a few years of German in high school and college, but unfortunately, do not remember a lot of it.

Happy Reading! Laura

This is Renie from Fair Play, South Carolina. I am a widowed, semi-retired RN. I love to read "cozy mysteries" with a cup of tea and my dog curled up at my side.

I'm new to the group. I live outside of Chicago with my dog. I read a little bit of everything but I love Cozy mysteries. Most of the ones I read have a food background, Like Jenn McKinlay, Julie Hazy and Joanne Fluke.

I'd love to know what characteristics in a detective cozy fans like the most. Susan

That's a good question. I think, if it's an amateur sleuth, I like him or her to have some special skill which allows him or her to solve the mystery, and makes it plausible for the amateur to be ahead of the police - whether that's knowledge of human nature, like Miss Marple, or knowing about historical research, or having some specific local knowledge, or whatever skill the author chooses that works with the mystery.
I also like the detective to have common sense, and not get into dangerous situations out of stupidity or because they ignored warnings!
If the detective is a police officer, I want him or her to act professionally, with courage or compassion when required. And I'd rather they didn't have drink problems and/or marital problems. That's a bit overdone now.

Awesome! I started her Hatter series too and am looking forward to starting her library one!!

Awesome! I started..."
Thanks for the tip, Laura! I didn't know about the Library Lovers series. I learn so much from this group. Already put first one, BOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING, on my TBR List!

Finished this last night and DESPISED it!! I don't much care for changing POV, and most especially not when you need a flow-chart to keep track of all the characters who HAVE a POV! I read TGotT, and while there were no redeeming characters, it was still a good read. Not so this new one.

Always!! LOL The POV changed 7 times, 7 different people, in the first 30 or so pages!!

What kind of historical fiction do you like, Stephanie? I like to read (and write) historical crime/mystery fiction, thereby combining history and mystery!

I love finding out what others are reading, whether it's a mystery or a young adult novel or historical fiction. Reading and writing are my passions!

I love mystery and thriller. I need something to keep me interested and on the edge of my seat. So I hope I can get recommendations from this group for interesting reads!

I'm just starting to do more on Goodreads. Love finding out what people are reading/listening to on audiobooks!

This is my first group on Goodreads and I thought of joining this one as a good mystery book keeps me up all night, reading to uncover the clues, until the end. I hope to discover new books apart from the ones that I usually read. (Agatha Christie, Arthur Conan Doyle, Franklin W. Dixon, etc)
Cheers :)

, my name is Louise and I am from Ottawa Canada. I was introduced to cozy mysteries by a friend of mine. I have just started reading them. I love Victoria Abbott "Jordan Bingham" series and the "lighthouse series" from Eva Gates. Hoping to discover new authors.

I'm Heidi, I just joined a few days ago. I love all sorts of books, but I love to relax with a clean, cozy mystery. I live in Michigan, USA. Some of my favorite authors/series are Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot novels, and Tamar Myers' Pennsylvania Dutch mysteries.
