Carol Hooper Hi everyone! I am an author, artist and crocheter. I really enjoy reading "beach reads" by Mary Alice Monroe, Elin Hildebrand, Mary Kay Andrews and more. I also love cozy mysteries (of course) and the Simon St. Cyr series by C.S. Harris. One of my favorite authors though is Karen White. I think I've given five star reviews to almost all of her books.

Good Morin Yall!

I love reading mysterys and thrillers. I grew up reading Nancy Drew and Sherlock Homes. I can't wait to read what you recommend.

I've been going through books pretty quickly lately now that I have a newfound passion for reading again so I can't wait to see what everyone is reading and recommending as well as sharing my recommendations to you all as well! :)

Jackie Kanzler Hello I am brand new to the group. An old friend of mine told me about this app a few months back and I’ve fallen head over heels and tell all my book lovers about Goodreads. It wasn’t until recently I discovered the groups! I’m still trying to figure my way around. Right now my favorite authors are Karin Slaughter, Shari Lapena, Riley Sager, and Alex North (just to name a few). I just finished reading The Collective which I very much recommend it was one of November’s book of the months for the book of the month club which I also recommend for EVERYONE.

Bonnie Heather L wrote: "Welcome to the Cozy Mysteries group!

I'm Bonnie, and was a member long ago. I tend to swap genres periodically (historical, mystery, contemporary women's fiction, literary) and felt bad being a member of a group but not active. Lately though I've started cleansing my palate with cozies after a few more difficult reads, so think I can keep up with the monthly reads at least - starting with my cozy Christmas reads.

message 760: by Bruce (new)

Bruce Leonard Hello, I'm Bruce Leonard. I've been a journalist and a writer of short stories for nearly four decades. After setting aside the hard-boiled detective novel that had bogged me down for decades, I wrote a cozy mystery set in Paducah, Kentucky, the quilting capital of the world, then signed with TouchPoint Press. Completing the cozy gave me the confidence to complete the detective novel, then sell it, too. Agatha Christie's The Murder of Roger Ackroyd was the first cozy I read, and it made me a cozy reader for life.

message 761: by Emily (new)

Emily Hi everyone. My name is Emily and I love to read nearly all types of books-but I love a good mystery to get my mind grinding. I hope to become a author one day soon and write stories even though I have yet to get them published with my busy schedule. As of right now, I am writing a mystery. It’s not easy, but it’s fun! Work in progress and just keeping at it! I read lots of mysteries, but as of right now for mysteries, I’m enjoying Diane Kelly and Bree Baker. Can’t wait to interest into many more! Any recommendations, I am welcome to!
Can’t wait to meet everyone and will keep tabs on this group when I can!
Happy reading! 🐾

I’m a slower reader, but between my job and grad school, it is because I have limited time. And after reading text books and articles, I’m excited to read for pleasure. I’m looking forward to reading books and discussing them!!

message 765: by Kara (new)

Kara Schumann Hi! I've been an avid reader since second grade. I've been wanting to write my own novel for several decades. Finally did it! Scary and exhilarating. I am new to using Goodreads. Wish I would have become an active member years ago when I first set up a profile.

message 767: by P.J. (new)

P.J. Tremblay Hi. I'm a Cozy Mystery author and reader. My trilogy (so far) is The Ghost Detective series. They are short-reads. I love to read shorter, fun, cozy mysteries. During this COVID mess, I've found Cozies to be... well... a cozy distraction.

message 768: by TAYLOR (new)

TAYLOR Hello everyone, I'm Taylor! Ever since I learned to read as a kid, I've never been able to put down a book since. I love to read cozy mysteries, thrillers, suspense, and especially romance. Basically, I always have a book glued to my hand - or rather my e-reader. Happy reading! :)

message 775: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Yoder Hi I'm brand new to this group and just wrote a draft of a cozy mystery of my own! I am an author of other genres, but my mom wrote a cozy mystery set in the '40's & I want to publish my story together with hers! I was introduced to the genre by Diane Wing, whose work I really love (The Dog-Eared Diary: A Chrissy the Shih Tzu Mystery, a series). I look forward to interacting with you and learning more about the genre!

message 776: by Linda (new)

Linda Maynard Hello. my name is Linda and I am an avid reader ( as we all must be here on good reads). I enjoy mystery novels along with historical fiction. However, I am never boxed into a genre. If the book picks my interest, I will give it a try. My very favorite author is Sue Grafton who unfortunately passed away while one letter short of finishing her alphabet series. Now for me the alphabet officially ends with “Y”. I enjoyed reading her series for the last 30 years. I recently discovered “Cozy mysteries “ while listening to British mysteries on audible. I retired this year and we moved to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan so I am enjoying wintery reading and lots of hit chocolate.

I love thrillers and recently joined goodreads and I hope I'll find good recommendations and good disscusion here. :)

message 782: by Lori (new)

Lori Hello,

My name is Lori, I have been an avid reader my entire life. The past few years though I have really enjoyed the cozies.

I have 2 adult children, I am a nurse and I love to spend time with my dogs and cat, listening to a cozy while knitting, or reading a cozy.

I live in Texas but am originally from Canada (Alberta). I hope to be able to talk about cozies with like minded friends, and get some new title and author recommendations.

message 783: by Kira (new)

Kira FlowerChild Hi! I'm Kira and I love cozy mysteries, especially ones about bookshops, books, and reading. I read most of Agatha Christie's books when I was a teenager (after reading every Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys book I could get my hands on), and in the past I've read Charlotte MacLeod's books and many others. Ellery Adams is a favorite right now, especially her Secret, Book & Scone Society mysteries. I also occasionally read paranormal mysteries, especially if they're light and funny, like Nova Nelson's Eastwind Witches series.

I would love to hear from anyone who has suggestions based on the books I've mentioned. Cozy mysteries are what I read when I need something light and fun after I've read something particularly heavy or emotional. So although they aren't the only type of book I read, they serve a very important purpose for me.

Oh, personal stuff. I'm 68 years old and as indicated by my screen name, I was an original hippie way back when, and I still believe in the ideals of peace and love for all living creatures. I will have been married 42 years as of next month (Feb. 16) and I have a 35-year-old son (where did the time go???). I was born in Texas and lived there 25 years and have lived in Oklahoma for 32 years, since 1989, but have also lived in California (both Northern and Southern) and in South Carolina. My work background is mostly in the medical field but I managed a Waldenbooks way back when, worked for a juice company in the middle of an orchard in Northern California, and have had a home day care as well as a home typing service back when computers weren't quite so common. More info on my Goodreads page if you'd like to send a friend invite.

message 784: by Finnegan (new)

Finnegan Hello My name is V and I love mysteries and thrillers. I have two cats, sammy and turtle. Im fourteen, and I love going to Black Dog (its a coffee shop if you don't know) and reading. Nice to meet you all!

Barry Ziman Girls, Crimes, and the Ruling Body Girls, Crimes, and the Ruling Body by Barry R. Ziman Barry R. Ziman

A legislative debate over the death penalty conceals an actual murder. Lies and deception are the modus operandi of those climbing to the top. This debut novel is designed to be a mirror, revealing not just the desires, vanity and ambition of its characters, but also the harsh truth of politics. In the end, the reader realizes that for those in power everyone else is a pawn to be played.

message 786: by renuka (new)

renuka Hi everyone, Renuka here from Malaysia.I ‘ve always been a fan of mystery and thriller genre. Have finally got back into reading after retiring and the lockdowns have helped me start the ball rolling. Cozy mysteries helped during these tiring times . Have done Ann Cleeves , Agatha Christie and others. Love the ones with English, Scottish, Irish backgrounds. I hope this group will help me with book recommendations as I have been reading this genre based on public reviews. Hope to hear from you all.

message 787: by Jeanne (new)

Jeanne Tania Hello everyone. I'm Jeanne from Indonesia and I love reading mysteries. I like Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes series a lot (very cliche no?). I've always loved reading but haven't read as much as I'd liked to in the last few years. For this spring break I'm trying to read as much as I can but I don't know where to start.

Nice to meet you all!

message 788: by Catsalive (new)

Catsalive Hello, I'm Kylie from Australia. There was a time when cos/zies were about all I read. Back in the 90s I started reading all my mother's Agatha Christies & her other Crime Clubs such as Ngaio Marsh & Mignon Eberhart & chanced upon Charlotte MacLeod, found a fellow cosy reader at work... and binged! It's not that I wouldn't read anything else, but I didn't have time with all those back catalogues. I'm much more balance these days 😂

message 789: by La_Mer (new)

Melrose McFadden Hello! I'm happy to be joining this group. I love to read cozy mysteries, clean romance, paranormal mysteries, celebrity autobiographies, chef memoirs, and post-apocalyptic fiction. I guess I'm multifaceted. I'm an author of 2 cozy mystery series (1 small-town buddy sleuth cozy, and 1 beach cozy set in 1986) which are ongoing throughout 2022.
Looking forward to digging into the content in the group!

message 797: by Zoe (new)

Zoe hey!!
so first my name is zoe and i‘m a 16 year old girl from germany. My mum is an american citizen and helped me improve my english so my language would be a problem if you wondered… I always have read when i was younger, especially in grammar school. The book that got me into reading again was “they both die at the end” in march 2021! I’m so glad I started reading again.
Since the group is about cozy mystery books, I have to be honest and tell you I haven’t read many mysteries yet! I joined this group to get more into this genre and the different tropes:) my favorite young adult mystery book was “the inheritance games” by jennifer lynn barnes, which I read last month. 5 out of 5 stars!!

Amtal (taylor's version) Hey, Im amtal and i enjoy reading mysteries and my first ever favourite reading genre was mystery. I dont read a lot of cosy mysteries but im up for recommendations

message 799: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Thomason Hi to all the cozy lovers. I have been on Goodreads for many years, as a romance author with 37 published books. I just published my first cozy mystery (a historical) as a Kindle edition. I love cozies, especially series books and I plan to continue with my showboat mysteries. I am a former high school teacher and professional auctioneer. As an auctioneer I discovered many unusual and quirky objects from the past that inspired my interest in history. I am a widow with one son, also a writer, and one adorable pup.
