My name is Eric (From Ga) And I have been reading mystery books for about 5 years. I am always looking for new authors in the mystery. Newe to Goodreads.

My reading goal is just to be able to have some time to read. We have been having bad weather and are in the middle of a big nor'Easter right now...too much work to do before I can take time to cozy up with a good book, a cup of tea, and my cats. How I look forward to that after shoveling "feet" of snow and salting for days!

I am excited to be part of this group and I am looking forward to learning about new books via the recommendations here.

Welcome Deepti! I know you will enjoy this group!

I loved Nancy Drew as a child. Every now and then, I'll still read one for the fond memories. I enjoy mysteries that really keep you guessing who the culprit is. I still like to watch old reruns of Murder She Wrote and Perry Mason and I enjoy Hallmark's Movies and Mysteries. I'm sure you'll enjoy this group!

Cozy mysteries are like comfort food to my soul. And if you set them in the past? I'm in heaven.
I'm hoping to connect with people to chat about stuff I'm reading, so feel free to reach out.

I love reading to escape and wind down and cozy mysteries are one of my faves with my cat curled next to me and a cup of tea in hand.
I look forward to meeting you all.

I like coffee more than tea and my cat has changed allegiance to my husband though I still will do in a pinch.
But love Cozy Mysteries - always on the lookout for great ones.

It will be about a young lady starting a boarding house to support herself and two siblings. It will include a ghost, a cat (also a ghost) a couple of Army sergeants and a few more odd characters. I think it will be absolutely wonderful and I think under pressure I can probably get my two sisters to read it. Beyond that we will see . . .
I picked 1908 as I have a cookbook published by a ladies Guild in that year and I want to tie in a few recipes in the book. The recipes are so fun - very few directions. Grab a few ingredients, put them in a pot, place them on the fire and cook till done.
This sounds like a very fun group and I like the idea of sharing with other cozy readers.

I am more than willing to beta-read, once you have it written!

I love cozy mysteries, especially MC Beaton. I love witty banter and fun twists and quirky characters. I haven't read any historical cozies, but I'm open to suggestions:)
During the pandemic, I finalized my first amateur sleuth mystery which to be published March 15. Charlie Sanders is fabulous at fifty and a happily married empty nester who has it all; sciatica, myopia, and a dead body in her LaZBoy. Wish me luck!

Hi Linda! The Dana Girls, The Hardy Boys, and Nancy Drew bring back so many fond memories! Did you read Judy Bolton or Trixie Belden? I enjoyed all of them! Welcome to the group!

I'm looking forward to meeting other readers who enjoy cozy mysteries!

I made this account literally two days ago but I'm already in love with everything that is in here. I'm going to be 21 this year and I'm still at university, so sadly I don't have that much time to read. I've actually never had that much time.
Even with that, I've grown up (still am in a way) surrounded by mystery stories, mostly on movies or series, but I've always loved reading and writing. I'm kind of disappointed in myself since I don't read as much as I would like to, but hopefully this will push me forward and have time to enjoy!
If anyone wants to chat with me I'm always open for a nice conversation!
J Franklin here and I enjoy writing mystery thrillers. My latest book Thread takes a Crime Family Story turn. An interesting look inside the workings and relationships of The Family. As a writer I enjoy my characters in plots that the reader will find exciting and one they can immerse themselves in.
I spent many years in the entertainment industry, both movies and music. Honored to be a producer of USO Entertainment. Putting on Shows for our Military.
Made movies starring children who were terminally ill. The magic of Movies embraced their hearts and minds, smiles on their souls, giving them the will to live again.
Currently writing a continuation of Thread and my protagonist Kyle Stone as more readers fall in love with him.

I’ve just joined the group and resolve to check it regularly. I transitioned from writing academic books to writing what I guess I’d call cozies. Or are they simple “whodunnits”? Does anyone have an idea of what the difference is? My books tend to take place in a small, local setting and they all involve a crime. I’d classify them as both cozies and “whodunnits.” They’re definitely not thrillers. I’m reading one now that is well written, but not really to my taste. But kudos to you who can write thrillers. I think it was Tana French (my new favorite) who argued that mysteries can also qualify as literary fiction. I’m with her. Categories are meant to be broken.

You might find the discussion “What do you consider a cozy?” to be beneficial.

Hello everyone, I’m John from near Oxford in the UK.
I’ve recently upgraded my very old Kindle to a Kindle Oasis, so it now links to Goodreads, which has really caught my interest. Although there seems to be so much on here it’s a bit like information-overload at the moment. But I’m getting there.
It wasn’t until a few years ago when I rejoined my local library after a long time away, that I discovered there was such a thing as cozy crime, or should that be cosy crime, or does it even matter. :-) I thoroughly enjoy these book, nothing to heavy, just a nice easy going plot. Looking forward to reading many more, especially now I have found Goodreads to point me in the right direction.

Thanks. I’m pretty much on the same page as these commentators. I’ve written a cozy series about retired English professor Susan Warner. First of three of my second series is out. This time the amateur sleuth is librarian Deborah Strong. I don’t agree that a cozy is something you’d give to your mother/grandmother. I’m always amazed at what offends people. I have a relative who can’t read my first series because the character is an atheist. It hardly even matters to the novels. It’s just who she is. Maybe she’ll read my second series where the character is very much involved in her church.

Happy Mothers Day to all Mothers.
I have been a member of Good Reads for a few months; have had problems finding a group I am comfortable in. My taste of books lean toward Mystery, Thrillers, and Suspense but I do love Super Natural as well.

I'm also an author, so I'm always on the look out for new sources of inspiration.
Look forward to getting lots of ideas for books to read and swapping impressions!
