Greetings and salutations all. New participant here. I’m Jeffrey and I live in the area of Rochester, NY.I’m 41 with 22 years of experience.
My first two books are my Sundowners series a literary fiction, mystery with my take on vampires.

Okay, I’ll post my query here. I’m lost, more so on GR but also here. No real clue what’s going on or how to use/navigate GR. The threads here are also a bit confusing. Made a post about this in the Blood Bar thread a day ago.It boils down to there appear to be two types of GR members. Those who’ve been here for a long time and those like me who are new and have no clue. I’m frustrated. I want to participate but am unable to for lack of knowledge. I’m 63 and maybe to old for all this.

Made a post about this in th..."Hi Jeffrey... We are so happy you are here with us. There are many threads in our group; once you get accustomed to them I think you will feel more comfortable. Some areas are just discussion places where we can share what we are reading, things happening in our lives, recommendations, or challenges we are experiencing in life. These are place where we just connect with one another.
There are other places that are focused on reading challenges if you are interested in participating... You certainly do not have to participate, your choice. Some of our challenges are monthly and change each month. Then we have ones that run yearly, 6mos, or 3mos. Check them out and take notice of the dates for the timeframe you can complete them.
When you complete a challenge, you earn a Vampire Heart associated with that challenge. Once you are here for a while you may request a Vampire Heart thread which is where all the hearts are placed... These threads are located at the bottom part of the group threads.
Right now, we also have some fun Halloween threads popping up... Check them out and see if anything looks interesting.
We also have some fun games you can participate in that are just stress relievers that may make you laugh a bit.

Wow it's been a few years! Hello everyone, came back to the group in hope to find some challenges to increase my reading motivation. I have had the worst slumps these last few years but think I'm finally finding that feeling again, can't promise I won't disappear from time to time as I'm trying to get into a better rhythm and finding my balance. Might be some trial and error Probably only going to be popping into a few challenges throughout the year to not overwhelm myself lol. I have found myself not reading as much paranormal but might find some nice recs as I browse through everyone's reading updates 👀
Really regret leaving the group as even though I may not have been reading much, definitely missed the community

Welcome back Trinity! We love to have you here even if it's hit and miss. I think we all go through times when we aren't reading as much and are busier. I know I'm going through that as well right now. I think we try to make sure that the challenges have a few tasks that you can read that don't take fantasy/paranormal books.We also have a lot of members that don't do the challenges but we love to hear from everyone in the threads where we just talk about all kinds of stuff!

Hiiiii! I'm in the US and I love to lose myself and everything around me in a good fantasy book. I'm not so much into urban fantasy, although I have read some and liked them. But I'm open to keeping my eyeball peeled outside of my own box. I've been into vampires for as long as I can remember. I've watched movies like Blade and Interview With A Vampire (my favorite films of all time aside from LOTR) over and over again. I'm looking forward to joining your reading discussions!
