Oh, did you see the The movie "Yakuza" with Robert Mitchum and Takakura Ken? Old classic, and way ahead of its time!
Andrew

The one I ended up watching the most was Yakuza Demon, kikoku, I also really like Crow Zero, though technically they were yanki.

When a fatal road crash turns out to be murder, DCI JACK MASON is sent to investigate. Within the seemingly dark vaults of the police missing persons files, lay untold dangers. Young women are easy pickings for a serial killer who believes God has sent him to rid the world of an overindulgent appetite for greed. When criminal profiler DAVID CARLISLE is drafted in to assist, Carlisle is met by the killer’s wrath.

4.8 out of 5 stars - Fast, furious, funny, fighting and the odd f-bomb… Excellent!

After shooting and killing his nephew, a gunman runs amok in a London park. What drives Edward to commit such atrocities? Who will survive yet another of his moments of madness? Set in Jersey, Cornwall, London and Manchester, Random Bullets is a contemporary thriller with a paranormal twist.
If I tell you that I was disinherited by my crazy father, you might understand why I feel a degree of sympathy for Edward. I was interviewed in February 2016 by two BBC Radio 4 producers as part of their Analysis programme on the subject of Inheritance. They’d heard that my book, Random Bullets, deals with the subject of disinheritance and its aftermath.
Published in November 2015, Random Bullets is available on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle editions. An audiobook edition of this favourite book of mine is in production. Audiobook versions of two of my other books are already available on Audible, Amazon and iTunes.
"Action-packed, thought-provoking, a real ride. I couldn't put it down," "crime with a twist," "An insightful look behind the many faces we wear, and how burning resentments can take you into madness and murder," "Kinetic... really zips along at a pace, I was really drawn in" are just a few of the reader reviews that Random Bullets has received. All the ratings for Random Bullets have been 5-star so far. Your review would also be much appreciated. I’d love to hear what you think of Random Bullets, a book that means so much to me.

Wonderful, Geoff!

Right now, I have a book in a Kindle Scout campaign. I would love it if you would go check it out and nominate it. You'll get a free copy if Kindle Press picks up the book!
My Kindle Scout campaign
I self-published my first book, BEYOND THE CABIN, two years ago. It's not a thriller, but it is a novelization of my childhood as an orphan in a Scientology splinter cult.
Future House Publishing, an independent publishing house in Utah, published my next two books, BEAT and LAKHONI, both the first book in duologies. BEAT is a futuristic scifi thriller about a young troublemaker named Nik who believes that the biotoxin his society is so scared of doesn't really exist. He proves it doesn't, but then the biotoxin kills his friend. Things get messier after that, with the police trying to kill him and Nik learns that humanity might have been murdered. If he doesn't figure out what really happened, and tell everyone, the human race could be wiped out.
LAKHONI is about a young man named Lakhoni who is left, battered and bloody, for dead when a raiding party destroys his village- murdering his family too. Taken in by a society of assassins, Lakhoni discovers that his own king sent the men who killed his family. So Lakhoni is going to kill his king, and find his sister who it turns out might have been kidnapped. Trouble is, his family was hiding a secret that could allow a wicked king to rule the entire known world. And only Lakhoni can stop it.

INCOGNITO is my second thriller that's scheduled to be released next year. A specialist is dispatched by Anonymous to find the pope, who is missing.

'Ideal for lovers of the dark and deadly. Beautifully written, horror poems.'
The Wicked Come is a collection of dark romantic, fantasy and Gothic horror poetry from the speculative writer and poet P.J. Reed.
The poems in this collection are beautifully descriptive, well-crafted snapshots of the lives of people inhabiting the shadowlands of civilised society.
This collection is an exploration of the darker side of humanity. The consequences of one-sided love affairs and how obsession can easily turn to murder. It explores the aftermath of when sanity crashes against madness.
Readers of P.J. Reed’s work are introduced to a variety of characters inhabiting a dystopian society: the gourmet detective, the doctor with unusual hobbies, the unnatural gardener and the too ardent lovers. Each character has their own dark tale to share, their lives unravelling before the reader in minimalistic, deadly verses.

Hello! I released my debut novel They'll Call It Treason in May this year. It is a conspiracy thriller forged largely up the Blue Ridge Mountains following FBI Agent Ethan Shaw. If you like David Baldacci and Lee Child's novels, you'll probably enjoy They'll Call It Treason.
Right now the book is on four of Amazon's Bestseller Charts, which is very exciting! It's on the Organized Crime, Vigilante Justice, Assassination and Terrorism Thriller charts! I hope you'll give it a read. It's available on Kindle and Paperback, as well as the Kindle Unlimited program.
Available Here: https://www.amazon.com/Theyll-Call-Tr...
BOOK SYNOPSIS
A journalist's body is found abandoned in a Washington alleyway.
A state representative is brutally murdered in Raleigh.
A Virginia Congressman's life is threatened by a radical militia group.
When one crucial moment turns FBI Agent Ethan Shaw into a fugitive, he finds himself on the run, fighting back against the country he swore to protect. Framed for a crime he did not commit, Ethan will risk everything to prove his innocence and protect the ones he loves - but the truth he will uncover poses a far deeper threat.
They took everything from him: his career, his partner, his freedom.
How far would you go to get it all back?

My husband has a new quick thriller out now - seems to have hit the spot with early reviewers and readers...
‘Oh my, this book surely packs a punch. The writing is bold and blunt, with horrific things said in a matter of fact way. “I kill people. That’s what I’m paid to do.” It sends a shiver down your spine.’
‘I was soon sucked into the story which was about a British army sergeant being hired for a hit by, of all people, the police. The one-liners come thick and fast, there’s innuendo and some great enjoyable word-play, too.’
'Tight, humourous, direct, logical, philosophical and a bit scary...'
Fifth Columnist is part of the Stoner series, but it doesn't matter if you haven't read the others; you can start here if you like. A bent copper is compromising national security and needs to be rapidly neutralised, but none of the evidence will stand up in court. That’s exactly why men like Stoner operate in the shadows, ready to terminate the target once an identity is confirmed…
The ebook also contains an excerpt from Frank Westworth's forthcoming full-length novel:-
‘The novel excerpt begins with Stoner on his Harley in the American north-east, enjoying the scenery. Unfortunately, a group of bikers take exception to him and a little friction results. Here, we get to see action, plenty of it, swift, brutal and bloody, laced with irony and wit.’
'An interesting bonus - the opening to his next full length novel - The Redemption of Charm - I would have carried straight on reading it if I could!'
I'm sure most folk know how tricky it is for indie authors to reach readers - so even if this isn't necessarily something you'd enjoy reading, it'd be great if you could pass the word / share the details with your friends.
Thanks!

It soon becomes clear that nobody should ever upset Serena if they know what’s good for them. After reading The Hostile, you’ll never look at D.I.Y. in the same way again.

I haven't read John Rain, but they look interesting. When researching it was mostly non-fiction reading and a lot of Takashi Miike movies.
