Shane Thawer Hello

The book I authored, WHISTLEBLOWER: SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT. A true-crime non-fiction record whose release/Launch untimely coincided with the lockdown due to the Covid-19 outbreak in 2020.

This is a soft re-launch of the book, and I want to invite everyone to take a read. I have chosen to keep the ebook free-of-charge until the end of the year. Everyone should be free to share the ebook to friends, Family and if you have colleagues in the press/media or independent bloggers.

Should you decide to own a hard copy, you should know all proceeds from the book will be directed to advance the cause of Independent Media, Truth, Justice and Free Speech.

I will be grateful if you can leave a review on Amazon.

Davis Swinney So anyway, I've written a number of books.

The Tales of Daavas trilogy, which is a High Fantasy/Comedy series: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B5PTMDGY?...

Void Conflicts: The Saga of Dawn Windchaser, a Space Opera which is basically my retelling of the Star Wars Original Trilogy, that has a few more twists than that sounds: https://a.co/d/8WDyT90

Eden Solaris: Tales from Beyond our Stars, is a collection of short stories I wrote while working on Tales of Daavas. It's set in a distant galaxy where humanity live alongside a number of alien races: https://a.co/d/2JGFv7x

And finally, the odd man out in this selection. The Penguin That Went To Santa's Workshop: https://a.co/d/6UJJPqp

Mary Lomie George Hi! My name is Mary George and I am just starting out on my book review/ recommendation journey. I love to read more than anything! I read at work and even dream about reading when I’m asleep! I love romance genres tropes of all kinds! I love autobiographies with humor behind them, similar to Chelsea Handler or Jennette McCurdy. Light thrillers and mystery novels are great as well! I enjoy fast paced books and quick reads and on average I read around 120-150 books a year!

Ann Göth Hi all,
I am glad to have found this group, as I feel a bit left alone in this big wide book marketing world - not just because I live in Sydney, Australia...
I work in a school library and love reading all kinds of books - always trying to be the first to borrow a new interesting one before others get their hands on it...
I am an author of a recently published book that is officially non-fiction but has been described as a perfect blend between fiction and non-fiction. It is a travel memoir from when I was a young enthusiastic conservation biologist living on a very remote island in Tonga .(Volcanic Adventures in Tonga - Species Conservation on Tin Can Island).
I am looking forward to being part of this group, Ann

Rebecca Renner I all. My name is Rebecca Renner. I'm new to the group. I'm publicizing my debut book Gator Country: Deception, Danger, and Alligators in the Everglades.

The first big thing I'm doing is having a giveaway. Click here to enter.

Here's a very short description:

To catch a Florida Man, you have to become one, and that’s what Jeff Babauta does in my literary true crime debut GATOR COUNTRY. The tricky old wildlife officer faces off with the wiliest of poachers on his mission to save baby alligators and the Florida Everglades. Come with me as your narrator as I delve into the danger and adventure of the glades to find the truth of its unbelievable past. Along the way, I relearn to experience the awe of nature, and I discover that sometimes the tallest tales are the truest, and every person is more than meets the eye. Even Florida Man.

Jeff S Hi everyone.

I produce a quirky, short-form audio podcast called "The Page 1 Challenge" which is a fun little game for book lovers.

In each episode, BEFORE identifying the author or title of a book, I simply read page 1. Can page 1 be captivating enough to make the listener want to read the book? THAT'S the challenge!

Of course, after reading I do identify the author and title, and the episode notes include a link to the author's website and Amazon page.

I'm meticulous about getting permission from authors to include their books. The episodes are short (around 5 minutes) so for book lovers it's a low-investment, fun way to potentially find a new book. For authors, it's a quirky and fun way to get exposure (for free).

Authors: if you're interested in having a book featured in an episode, please contact me at jeff@thepage1challenge.com.

Readers: check out the podcast - on all the podcast platforms and on the podcast website (not sure if I'm allowed to post a link, but it is easy to find).

Rachel Nahabedian 38 years old married no kids. Last year I read 24 books all year and set my goal to 50 for this year and I just finished 118!

Listen to audio books while working, e-books and physical in the morning and at night. Just discovered ARCs and have discovered some great authors and books.

2023 has been the year of me going in blind to a book. I've noticed it makes the mysteries more mysterious, the romance more romantic, the suspense more suspenseful. It's been a joy and I might keep it up past 2023. Romance is the only genre I need to read a little about before I read (lots of tropes that aren't my thing).

I shy away from reviews that just vomit a recap of the entire plot (hinders my going in blind year) and try to shy away from doing that myself. I don't take myself too seriously and appreciate the short, quick, to the point reviews that let me know how you really feel.
