It's an awful time to release a story centered on a Confederate soldier but the narrative makes an attempt to rewrite past stereotypes about southern soldiers. For one thing, the hero survives the war with the help of an old slave, a woman who practices hoodoo. Actually, I'd say she is the hero but we see more the product of what she does than actually seeing much of her.

Hi everyone! I’m Tina. I normally do not make New Years resolutions but I am an aspiring author and want to better my writing skills. I decided to set a small goal of 30 books for this year and I have already almost met my goal. I have been able to get my hands in a few print copies of ARCs but would like to receive more. I prefer physical copies because I like to feel the book in my hand. May sound old fashioned but it also motivates me more. I lose interest with a digital copy. If there are any authors who can provide physical copies, I would love to read and review for you. I love historical fiction but also enjoy mystery, YA, family relationship, coming of age, and Christian fiction.

Although my favorite literary era is Gothic, I have a wide range when it comes to my reading genres.
